This is my 1:1 Scale version of the Pantheon as it was intended to look like when it was built in 125 A.D, Considering that this is as accurate of a reconstruction as i can make with the latest version of minecraft (1.12 at the time this was posted). This building is the absolute pinnacle of roman engineering as it has the largest dome they ever made and it is the only roman temple to be dedicated to all of there gods.It also revolutionized engineering and architecture as a whole because never before had this much space ever been made in a building without interrupting it with supports.This was also the first time in the classical era that a buildings interior was made to outshine its exterior.This is by far the best preserved and studied building the Romans ever made as it was so spectacular nobody went in and stole all the marble out of it.


Even today it is still one of the larger domes ever put into a building and it is the largest to ever be constructed WITHOUT reinforced concrete it even holds a world record for that.Even today with all of our advanced technology we still cannot replicate that large of a dome without extensively using reinforced concrete much less have it last almost 2000 years through a couple major earthquakes and not implode in on it self. This building was a huge inspiration for the domes in many other Renaissance buildings and also was a great inspiration to Michelangelo, Leonardo Da Vinci, and Raphael on there buildings and the art work in them.

this project started out as my first ever 1:1 scale reconstruction and was the only one that went together almost perfectly in 3 days sometime in 2014, one of the only flaws as the endless legions of experts online will notice is the interior is actually 42 meters across instead of 44 (as i built on the wrong side of the marker everyone makes mistakes)BUT it allowed everything else down to the floor tiles to go in perfectly so i left it like that. This building is my favorite so its always remodeled on every update so there will be different versions up for download as the updates come out.
