This is a side project that I've been working on for a few weeks.
I'm attempting to build a scale-ish representation of the University of Arizona. So far I have the main building (Old Main) and Engineering nearly finished.
The University of Arizona was founded in 1886 and consisted of a solitary building standing proudly in Tucson, Arizona, smack dab in the middle of the Sonoran Desert. The structure was designed to protect itself against the constant barrage of sunlight. Wide porches wrapped ample shade around the building's exterior; an early example of sustainable construction (see below).
Old Main's brick facade would become the college's construction paradigm for the next 129 years.
There are over 100 buildings comprising UA's main campus, and it takes quite a while to build each of them from the outside-in. This project is massive, and should take some time to complete :)
