This is the USS Growler (a real submarine at last) This submarine inspired me to build fictional submarines (It also inspired USS Columbus!)
The USS Growler was an early attempt to make a cruise missile submarine, she was launched in 1958 and served in the cold war, she was decommissioned in 1964 and was went to the intrepid sea air and space museum in New York city.
