As of Minecraft v1.2, this elevator concept no longer works. You must have Minecraft v1.1 installed to ride it.

This elevator smashed two records. Not only is this the fastest piston elevator in Minecraft; it is also the elevator with the most functional floors. This elevator is twice as fast as the second fastest elevator. It will take you from bedrock to clouds in 6 seconds, and from clouds to bedrock in 4 seconds. Also, there has been a struggle to create an elevator which goes up & down between only 5 floors. Well, this elevator can take you up and down between 26 floors. Download and experience this engineering wonder.

IMPORTANT:

• You must be standing in-between the two stacks of pistons (shown by the black & white wool blocks on the ground) in order for the elevator to work properly. You must also step off the elevator immediately after reaching a higher floor, or else you'll be sucked back down. Why would you want to stay on the elevator after reaching your floor anyways?

Keypad Maintenance Combinations:

• 0010 quickly refresh and resets the elevator shaft as a quick attempt to clear any simple jams.
  
• 00 opens the shaft for easy viewing and fixing of problems.
  
• 001 refreshes the entire shaft while keeping the shaft open for inspection.
  
• 024 opens a secret passage that leads to the background of the elevator.
  

Additional Notes

Planned Improvements:

• Make it a multi-floor, up & down elevator with 26 floors (all of which you can go up & down from). (Completed with v1.2)
  
• Connecting a compact, practical, keypad style, floor section device on every floor (Completed with v2.0)
  
• Installing a smarter CPU/processor (Gold) (Completed with v3.0)
  
• Adding more instant wire (speeding up floor-selection and other functions) (Completed with v3.0)
  
• Making the elevator faster more reliable (in regard to jamming issue)

Current Bugs:

• Computer lag can cause the pistons to fire out of sync and create a jam. If this happens to you, enter 0010 on the keypad as an attempt to clear it. You can also enter 00 to open the shaft and try manually fixing the jam yourself. If all else fails, just delete and re-import the worldsave/schematic. This bug can only be 100% fixed by slowing down the elevator, making the elevator shorter, or running Minecraft on a super computer.
  
• The going down function is slow at switching states (taking about 9 seconds, at max). Fixing this issue is my current Minecraft priority. (Fixed in 2.1)
