A quiet, young girl traveled on a long a narrow worn path, a basket hung around her forearm and a lanterns in her left grasp. Hunger tore away at her stomach, the yearn to return her family's cottage for a homecooked meal hurried her. The sun that once lit her path had settled behind the mountains and forests before her, making her travels dark and lonesome.
Though as she'd approach a forked path she'd come to a stop. The left path lead to the murky grim forest, and the right to farmlands in which she called home.The delicious fumes of fresh fruits and smoke filled her lungs, in a curious manner she took the path in which lead to the woodlands. She'd cross the bridge, a faint hop in her step, the child noticed what seemed to be sparks from a bonfire escaping from the forest. Under the bridge, the water reflected the shimmering light of a fire dancing across the lake side. In the distance, a heart filled lute could be heard, which filled her curious soul. A gleaming smile pulled at her lips as she'd hurry her steps, almost tripping over the sticks the lay in her path to the woods. Great white willows groaning in the sudden burst of winds, the night breeze almost blowing her towards the cheerful gathering.
The girl came to a stop as she'd approach a meadow within the mists of the forest. Crouching to her knees, she'd spy into the gathering which was not meant for her eyes. Human-Goat like creatures danced under the moonlight, prancing about a brightly burning fire as they would string upon their harps. Many Fauns played their lutes, crowns of vegetation and flowers hung around their heads. The girl watched in awe in great appreciation of the sight and songs that were sung. They pranced about in a circle, their songs could be heard about the forest yet no one dared to watch but the young curious girl.
Hours passed, Fauns beginning to run off within pairs of two as lovers would though the night turning to dawn. As the sun begun to beam, the sparks of the fire dwindled. The young child fallen asleep long ago, left to sleep among the vegitation that hid her from the previous gathering.
Within her mind, the Fauns still danced as they played their lutes and harps.
The sight to be forever played within her thoughts and within her sprit.

Fauns are half human, half goat creatures(waist up is the human body accompanied by horns, half down is goat like legs). Coming from Roman mythology, they can often be confused as Greek Satyrs. Fauns are very playful mythological creatures, often seen as a fear of why men did not travel alone. These creatures have always interested me due to The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe series. Though my skin rather than being more goat like is ram like, hence the horns.
