Persistence - Contest Skin ~9th Place~

I put the decimated city at my back as I headed into the endless plains of sand. My boots sloshed around in the grain, the radioactive desert surrounding me. The pack upon my back contained the bare necessities for this trek for hope in a hopeless world. Man's selfishness brought our home into the ground, man's greed and lust brought people down with it. A nuclear war between the Persistence and Domination groups, the Final War, left a wasteland on Earth. Everyone fought for glory and power, leading to our ultimate downfall. A select number of people were able to live through the nuclear war, and even those who did died off from the radiation that swept the Earth. Few people survive to this day, only those with gear fit for this post-apocalyptic world, such as I. My hazmat suit is able to prevent any unclean sources from getting in. This equipment keeps me moving to try and find a paradise in this living hell. I have had no luck in such findings. The only things I encounter are nonliving, inanimate objects. I press on continuously looking for anything worth living for. Anything worth the persistence.
