New update: 8-bitCraft 2 was released!!! Please click here for more info and for a download!
Simple and nice 8x8 blocks!

8-bitCraft is an 8x8 based resource pack. It revamps the current Minecraft blocks into more simple ones.

Even though it is only 8x8, don't feel like it's a downgrade from the classic Minecraft 16x16, because it's still nice.
The pack includes textures for blocks, some entitites like Shulker, and few 3D models.
Low-end computers shouldn't have any problem running this resource pack. Most textures are 8x8 blocks, which can even boost up your frames-per-second up a little.

Do you like my resource pack? You should definitely also check out my 32x32 Golden Improvement Pack!

I noticed I made a small honest mistake. The program I use to make resource packs (RPW) doesn't support exporting resource pack with textures for multiple versions, so before you download, make sure to look at all the files and download the version you want.

Click here to see CurseForge page.
Compatible with: 1.13, 1.13.1, 1.13.2, 19w14b and other 1.14 snapshots

Please, do not upload this resource pack on other websites without crediting the creator.
Shader pack used in screenshots is Chocapic13 V6 Ultra. Shaders are not included in this resource pack ;).

This is very nice, but I have a question. What is a good website / app / program to make a texture pack with? Thanks.thumb_up_alt

Will you be changing the textures to fit the new 1.14 texture pack? I would really love to see it :)

is there a version of this for 1.8? I hate the versions of Minecraft above 1.8.9

Hi, sorry, there is no supported version for minecraft 1.8. These versions use a different resource pack "system". But if you want to use it for 1.8.9, you can change names of folders in the resource pack called "item" and "block" to "items" and "blocks" (it's located in textures folder) that way mc should load the textures. Other stuff like green_wool use also different names like wool_green (I think) so yeah.

i don't like glowstone, coarse dirt, cobblestone (and all things with the cobblestone texture on it),and gravel,
all of the textures for those things are a bit to messy and all over the place. i also hate the helmets. a bit to odd.
(i LOVE the glass tho)

Hi. the reason why those textures may seem - or well are messy, is that, to put it simply, they are 8x8. I know I can make the textures more smoother, but that would require to make them different from the original Mc textures, and that's what I don't want. I'm going to make cobblestone and bedrock smoother, those white spots weren't nice. However, I agree with you, and I will keep that in mind - if I am ever going to make "8-bitCraft 2" or something like that, I will implement more smooth textures.

Hi, this resource pack is for Java Edition of the game, and will not work on the Bedrock Edition. I don't know if I will ever make this for Bedrock too, but I will see later.

Hi, you have to locate the %appdata% folder by pressing the Windows button + R at the same time, the typing %appdata% and pressing enter. Then go to .minecraft folder, then to resourcepacks folder and copy the pack there. Or you can open the location by starting minecraft, going to settings>resource packs and then pressing the Open Resource Packs folder button.

Hello! I have a suggestion. I was wondering if you could take this pack further. What I mean by that, is change the sounds to 8-bit, or, lower-quality, bitcrushed versions of the normal minecraft sounds.

Hi! Great suggestion, but to be honest, I have very little experience with editing sound. Also, I don't exactly know how something "8-bit" sounds, because first thing that comes to my mind when I hear that are sounds like in old Super Mario games, and I don't think that's somehow possible or it would sound good. However, I can try making the sounds more squeaky? That would be definitely possible, though I don't know if it would fit. What do you think?
EDIT: Ok, nevermind :D I played around with the sounds a little bit and figured out, I can change the sound sampling rate to around 8000Hz and it sounds kinda "old". I will try that with other sounds tomorrow.

Hi! Thanks for the feedback, I can make the cobblestone more plain, it looks a little bit better, however it's more similiar to andesite.
