Great Googly Moogly!

Holy-smokes, guys! I finally got around to getting the GUI/UI into the BE pack over Christmas. There are still a few things that will need to be tweeked (one missing texture and item description is wiggy), but overall I'm pretty happy with it. I haven't done anything with the PE textures yet, but I consider this complete enough to give it a page of it's own as I would like to see how many people actually use it.

As mentioned in the additional credits I used the John Smith Legacy Bedrock 1.19.2 as a template to get this all pieced together and there is still a folder labeled JSC in the UI folder, but this was just to save me having to edit a bunch of JSON files just to change the name of one folder, all images are still Derivation. This pretty much took me a week but I'm glad it's finally (almost) done. I only built and tested it on PC and haven't seen it on any of the consoles so I would really appreciate it if users of those platforms could please leave feedback to let me know how it goes.

As this is still largely the work of Levaunt, I will repeat the relevant disclaimers here as well -

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Derivation v5.2 is a Texture pack created by Levaunt and officially discontinued in 2013:

About:
Derivation is a 32x32 texture pack that draws inspiration from old and new RPGs. It is created with 100% Pixel Art in order to fit with the Minecraft theme.

Terms of Use:
DO NOT re-upload this pack and claim it as your own. You WILL be caught, as many others have before.
DO NOT steal any textures and put them into a remix pack or slightly edit them. No exceptions.

DO create a review and/or video of this pack. So long as you link back to this page or the one on Minecraftforum.net.
DO use the texture pack when creating an adventure map or project and suggest that people use it. So long as you link back to this page or the one on Minecraftforum.net.

Disclaimer: The painting (kz.png) in this pack are pixelated versions of other artists work. Full credit is given.

Please, by all means, respect the wishes (Dont's AND Do's) of this pack's original creator.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I discovered and have been using this pack since shortly after it was discontinued. As Minecraft evolved I would temporarily switch to other updated packs to avoid having vanilla textures showing up, but in the end I would always find a way to fanagle new textures out of the what was already living in the pack, some from the main pack but mostly from the secondary art in the CTM folders etc. That has been my passion and drive in this piece of work over the years, to keep all updated textures as true to the original style of the pack as I possibly could, hopefully those familiare with the original pack will find this submission satisfactory and see it as the true homage that it is meant to be.

I will attempt but do not expect to be able to maintain this pack with any degree of regularity, I enjoy digital art very much but I had never done pixel art before this project. I was surprised to learn just how challenging it is to coax realistic textures in a 32 x 32 space and salute all of you "regular" artists highly. Levaunt did make a very helpful tutorial here at PM which helped me wrap my head around this stuff and I encourage anybody interested to check it out and try their hand at this, I have also included all available Derivation artwork in subfolders at the start of the pack for you to play with:)

Lastly I want to thank the original artist for delivering such a beautiful and inspiring piece to work on, so many of these tiny designs still sit as mini works of art for me.

Please enjoy!

Boo-Ya! The BE Ominous Wolves Update is now available, all content currently in the Java version is now in the BE version, and even the Bogged have decided show up!

The only difference (as shown in the pics) is that I can't seen to get the .tga colour overlay for the wolf armor to look like the .png files in the java version. I'm sure it's just a step I'm overlooking in Photoshop but I'll get back to it later as I didn't want that to hold up the rest of the pack.

Also, even though the wolf variants are in the vanilla pack I didn't manage to find them anywhere in the game even though I traveled to a few of the appropriate biomes.

Enjoy and have a good weekend!

Fixing the bogged reading problem is pretty easy. First for some reason the bogged is not in the skeleton folder but instead on the general entity folder, also it has file names different to java, while "bogged" its named the same "bogged_overlay" is called "bogged_clothes", this may be a reference to the way the stray texture is named in the stray rendering .json

How did you figure that out? I couldn't find them in the latest sample that were released so where did you see it?

But thanks for letting me know! I'll check it out later this week and hopefully get the pack up this weekend.

Correction. There will be a new upload by this weekend, even if the bogged don't want to come out and play ; ) I'll get everything from the java pack dropped in and we will just see what happens. What could go wrong? I mean, I still don't see the new copper and tuff blocks in any released material but they show up just fine in the game.

Thanks again!

Thanks for letting me know ; )

I have uploaded a new .mcpack which includes everything in the Java pack. I just tested it and it works for me so hopefully it will work for you too.

As mentioned in the Update, the Wolf Armor and Bogged are in the pack but don't show up in the game. Hopefully this material will be released soon so I can see what the differences are between this and java.

Let me know how it goes!

Oh? I've never used capes before. I thought it was something related to your skin and not a texture pack.

...

Ok, it doesn't stop capes from working in Java so I'm not sure how to fix this for BE. I've done some searching but it's not easy to find a solution for this. Sorry.

Hey PMC! Most of the new stuff is now in the pack as mentioned in the update above. Hopefully there is an official release of this material soon so I can see how they rendered the missing elements.

Hope everyone has had a good Holiday Season and we will see you in the New Year!
