OptiFine installation
Download the ZIP file
Extract the ZIP file into "%AppData%.minecraft\resourcepacks"
Download and install the latest OptiFine
Use “Options - Video Settings - Quality - Custom Colors: ON”, "Options - Video Settings - Smooth Lighting: OFF" and "Options - Video Settings - Dynamic Lights: OFF"
Select the pack in the Resource Packs menu and press "Done"
If message appears saying the pack is made for another version of the game, click "Yes"

One question though, my base is in a swamp and slimes still spawn at light level <=7 unlike other overworld mobs! Can I copy and then modify your pack so that it highlights those areas like the pre-1.18 version did? If I can, can I also share the modified pack with others? I'm not really sure if it would be OK with you.
You can make a modified version of it if you like, and you can share it with others. You can even upload it to PMC as long as you provide credit!
I might also try to update my version of the pack in the future to show different colors for different mobs' light levels!
