What is it?
Programmer Art+ is a texture pack that aims to bridge the gap between Programmer Art and the newer textures added into Minecraft.

Are you a nostalgic fan of Minecraft since the early days, and disliked the 'smoother', newer textures added into Minecraft in the 1.14 Texture Update? Perhaps you want to check out what that weird native 'Programmer Art' resource pack was about? Maybe you just like the best of both worlds? An issue you're sure to have run into is with all blocks and items added after the Texture Update; they don't match! Suddenly, Nylium clashes with Netherrack, Soul Soil and Soul Sand look nothing alike, and all the new blocks added in 1.17 and above just don't fit right! Mojang have also officially stated that making these match is something they won't fix!

Worry no more! Programmer Art+ helps bridge the gap by making blocks and items look more like their classic counterparts

What has been changed?
Made blocks that 're-use' textures 're-use' the old textures, such as:
Nylium's netherrack texture
Respawn Anchor's obsidian texture
Deepslate Ores
Warped and Crimson Planks
Mangrove Planks and Logs
Cherry Planks and Logs
Honey Bottle's glass bottle texture
Buckets of fish, axolotls, powder snow and tadpole's bucket textures
Warped and Crimson signs
Nether Gold Ore now looks like a blend of the ore and the old netherrack texture
Warped Fungus on a stick now uses the old fishing rod texture
All Trial Spawners now use default Spawner looks
All Music Discs now look like standard black vinyl discs
Ominous Bottles now use Honey Bottles for their texture
Crafters now look more like Dispensers
Boats and Chest Boats now all look like old boats
Black, White and Blue Dye now fit the old dye style
Additionally, Black, White and Blue Dye have been renamed to 'Ink Black', 'Bone White' and 'Lapis Lazuli Blue' - in homage to the original "dyes"
Pale Oak Leaves now use Jungle Leaves
Placed Resin Clumps now use Lapis Lazuli, coloured orange
Knowledge Books now look like normal books, coloured green
Raw Iron Ore looks like (new) Cobbled Deepslate
Raw Gold Ore takes after the Block of Coal texture
Raw Copper Ore is now more similar to Blocks of Resin
Copper Armour now looks consistent with other armours

Overhauled the look of some new blocks, such as:
Copper Ore now looks like the 'classic' ores.
Soul Soil now looks more like a Soul Sand dirt equivalent than a weird wavy pattern
Mud now uses a recolour of Soul Soil's texture
Packed Mud now looks more like cobblestone
Mud Bricks now look more like Nether Bricks
Calcite, Tuff and Smooth Basalt now look closer to Programmer Art
Deepslate and it's variants have received a completely new texture in the Programmer Art style
Quartz Bricks now look more like Stone Bricks
Respawn Anchors now have a slightly updated glowstone texture
Blackstone now looks closer to older textures
Pale Oak Wood now looks closer to Programmer Art
Dried Ghasts now look consistently detailed with their grown selves.

Changed the look of some new items and blocks, such as:
Netherite and Copper Ingots now look closer to Gold and Iron Ingots
Leather Horse Armour now looks like the other horse armours
Netherite Tools/Weapons now look closer to standard tools and weapons
Raw Ores now use their original appearances
Iron Nuggets now look more like Gold Nuggets
Glow Ink Sacs now look similar to regular Ink Sacs
Tuff Variants now look a little simpler
Chiseled Bookshelves now look more like Bookshelves
Bundles now use their original appearance when closed
Leaf Litter is now darker
Bushes are now simpler in design, closer to normal foliage
Firefly Bushes are now dark green instead of sickly yellow, better blending into their environment
Cactus Flowers are now much simpler in design

Re-added some old textures and sounds, such as:
Poppies now look like Roses, and use their name.
The original Minecraft logo is displayed on the title screen, and the 'Java Edition' subtitle is removed.
Brown Dye now looks like old Cocoa Beans, and is renamed to 'Cocoa Brown'
'wait' is now called 'where are we now'
'Clay Ball' is now called just 'Clay' again
'Wheat Seeds' are now just called 'Seeds' again
Lava will sometimes use the 'old' Lava sound alongside the new.
'Cat' will sometimes play 'Dog' instead.
Zombified Piglins now look a little more like Zombie Pigmen
Boggeds now look more like Skeletons/Strays
Hurt sounds will now sometimes also play the old, fleshy variants alongside the new.
When viewing settings on the pause screen, the dirt background now appears instead of a darkened transparent background - similar to how it was before.
C418's music now plays universally once more, and new music no longer has a higher weight than C418's - now all music has an equal chance to play, rather than a bias against C418's music.
(Blue) Fish and Clownfish have been returned, with custom textures for Fish (Entity) being added to match them.
Apples original textures have been restored

Overhauled Advancements and renamed them to Achievements, as well as giving them better names and descriptions, such as:
Is it a Bird? -> Birdwatch
Is it a Balloon? -> Ghastly
Is it a Plane? -> Here be Dragons
Who is cutting onions? -> Who's cutting onions?
Oh Shiny -> Ooh, Shiny!
Diamonds! -> DIAMONDS!
Hidden in the Depths -> DEBRIS!
Birthday Song -> Transmission Received
Ice Bucket Challenge -> This Stuff's Purple
Withering Heights -> The Beginning?
When the Squad Hops Into Town -> Hopping Mad
The Parrots and the Bats -> Repopulation
Those Were The Days -> A Dreadful Bastion
Very Very Frightening -> Bewitching
You need a Mint -> Breathtaking
The City at the End of the Game -> Dwarfed Fortress
And more!

A brief history:
Programmer Art+ originally started out as a simple texture pack made in 1.15 designed to fix Honey Bottles. I realised that Honey Bottles' texture was the same as 1.14's new glass bottles, while I had been using Programmer Art, which causes bottles to suddenly morph and change into a new texture instead of looking like a filled bottle. This is why the icon for the texture pack uses the 'new' honey bottle texture, as an homage to where it all started.

As of Programmer Art version 1.4, I now fully believe it's as compatible as can be with all newly added textures, though updates will continue as new textures are released and old textures are revamped.

Actually not quite sure why the achievement names are changed, but I'm not too bothered by it.

Some are to correct errors with actual names, some are to reference older, removed achievements, and some are to just sound less cheesy or make a better reference (the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge is probably older than some of the playerbase at this point).

Fair enough, I think I'll continue using this pack rather than another pack, at least for now.

That zombie pigman texture appear to be based on jappa's one and not the actual programmer art pigman
