Update 1/12: To celebrate reaching 12K views and 3.5K downloads, I've made an interim pack to demonstrate some of the features coming in the 1.13 update! This will be the final update before 1.13. Work on the 1.13 version is now done, I'm just waiting for the official release of the version to release the pack.

Finally, my brand new custom resource pack is complete, made by a builder for builders! This pack was inspired by the BDoubleO pack, but recoded and retextured from the ground up with new variants, new textures, finishing touches, and general improvements!

This resource pack gives Minecraft a more visually interesting look by adding extra variants to blocks, custom leaf models, and much more! It was designed with my next project in mind, and intends to provide a Vanilla+ medieval experience without the dirty, gritty look of most medieval packs.

If you have have any suggestions, including any textures that I messed up or other packs you'd like to see me make, don't hesitate to let me know! Soon after this, an offshoot of this project will be coming that will be very interesting, so look out for that!

Enjoy!
Notes

As with all texture packs, do not redistribute this pack in any capacity without my permission (unless you're just sending it to a friend or something, obviously). If you see this pack anywhere besides PMC, please let me know!

Optifine is required for the full function of this pack.

The skies from Pixel Perfection are included as an optional sky in this pack. If you choose to use them, they will need to be recoded. See Acknowledgements for licensing.

I plan on updating this pack for new versions of Minecraft.

The optional pixel skies that I have included in the pack were created by XSSheep and are available via CC BY-SA 4.0

Update #7 : 01/12/2018 6:50:32 pm1/12/18

I've provided an interim pack to demonstrate some of the features of the 1.13 pack. This will be the final 1.12 update, bugs notwithstanding.

Update #6 : 12/30/2017 5:59:29 pm12/30/17

Lightened and desaturated sandstone and its variants to make it better for cathedral building and like real-life concrete.

Update #5 : 12/11/2017 11:40:08 am12/11/17

I need your feedback! I made the stone textures and variants (cobblestone, gravel, stone brick) lighter to make it more realistic. If people don't like it, I will revert back to the old textures.

Also, better emerald ores.

Update #4 : 12/08/2017 1:16:01 pm12/08/17

I felt like the amalgamation of all the little updates I've been putting without update logs warrants a full update at this point. Changes include recoding of dirt and path blocks, changing colors of various blocks (sandstone, end stone, nether-based blocks, etc.), and other fixes.

Update #3 : 12/03/2017 1:41:29 pm12/03/17

New skies again, because after sleeping on it, I didn't feel the pixel clouds matched the theme of the pack. If you preferred them, the images are still included in the pack, but you'll have to recode them in yourself.

Minor touchup: last finishing touches are in.

Update #2 : 12/02/2017 5:32:14 pm12/02/17

Door items and light gray glass fixed, and new acacia planks. Added a new underwater colormap. New skies by XSSheep.

Update #1 : 12/01/2017 2:10:11 pm12/01/17

New colormap, new light sources, new skymap. Other minor changes include the bedrock on the ender crystal, changes on chiseled quartz, stone, and the black brick/cobble textures.

Minor follow-up: added more obtrusive 3D leaves, because I needed the obtrusion in my life and I think you do too.

How do you remove the custom 3d leaves? It kind of glitches. It turns into black and purple
You'd have to do some recoding. I'll look into that to see if that's an issue with how it's coded, or if it's on your end.

Edit: I'm not experiencing this. Could you PM me some screenshots?

You said "BDoubleO for inspiration" but it looks like you just copy and pasted most of his blocks
Admittedly it was like that in the beginning, but now that I've found my footing almost none of the blocks are identical, and very few are even that similar (besides, of course, the ones that remain default).

Idk what the issue is, but after downloading the pack, only half of the blocks are converting to the pack. I only have one visual resource pack, and it's this one. I really enjoy this pack, and I'm hoping that you have a fix. thanks!
Can you describe this in more detail for me? PM me some screenshots.
Tell me, What editing software did you use to make this? I want to make my own resource pack but I can't find any good editing softwares.
I used GIMP, you could also use Paint.net or just Photoshop
Thanks.

This pack is absolutely brilliant, I am extremely picky when it comes to texture packs but can find literally nothing to dislike about this one, fantastic!

I just recently started playing on a German medieval server and was looking for a good medieval pack to use there. I hate how most medieval texture packs have faded colours and look really dull, this is a very refreshing break from the trend. Super excited to see what else is in store for this pack, danke vielmals Alter!

What's the map files for? Obviously you want us to see them or else you wouldn't have put them in a file. Is there a clue you can give, or a hint in the texture pack files themselves? I can't just use brute force on the zip cause you said you have letters and numbers which could take forever.

To be honest, I only put them in there so that I could have something in there at all. What use is a "secret" zip folder with nothing at all?

So you just put them there to piss the curious people off. Very nice lol. Do the maps actually contain anything or they just random generated worlds. and whats with the Welcome.txt

The maps are two of my creative worlds and one adventure map that I'd been working on but never finished. The txt file just explains that.

This pack is just a rip off of Halcyon Days!

I don't think it looks anything like Halcyon Days, but I'd be willing to hear why you think so.

tried moving the worlds from DO NOT OPEN but the files there have passwords too.
The way password protection works is that it prevents you from extracting any of the files unless you know the password aka you can't move/open any of the files inside without the password for the zip file as a whole

How did you get that to be password protected? ;o
So you tried to open it :P It's pretty easy, I just used 7zip

So far, I like the pack. I love the fact that you have something very similar to BDubs, which is what I have been looking for.
My only problem that I can see right now is that the texture of End Stone is very bright, making some of my builds look kinda bad. Other than that it all looks great.
Thanks! I'll see what I can do about it. In Vanilla, End Stone is just inverted blue cobblestone, which I did to make my End Stone variations. I'll tinker around with it and update if I like the changes.

It's in the new version now, if you'd like to see. I just lowered the brightness a little. Tell me what you think!

I think it looks much better now. It was just a little too bright before. I was using Bdubs pack until I realized he wasn't doing YT vids anymore meaning he wasn't going to keep up the pack at least for now. Thank you for listening to feedback and responding so quickly!

This is a weird question, but what's with the folder inside the pack that says "DO NOT OPEN"? Am I loosing my mind and making myself look dumb?

It's a folder you shouldn't open ;) Not crucial to the function of the pack, if that's what you're asking

I know you built your pack from the ground up, but the features look exactly like Bdub's. You could maybe texture some things not found in the Bdub's pack as well as changing the existing textures some more.

Thanks for the advice! I think the biggest changes are ones that don't show up very well in images like the ones above. I'll find a way to showcase those and update the images.
