There should be a toggle option where for the old versions, If there is a banner Pattern that cannot be crafted of something like that, it should say smth like: “unavailable in older versions”.

if put on the new versions, it should have a little procedure where the banner, progressively turning into the final result which we will call the “built banner” begins with a banner recipe to make the base color and then it gets added up with dyes and, if the pattern needs it, a banner pattern marked with it’s respective banner pattern like a math equation. here’s an example:



white banner crafting recipe = built banner
built banner + black dye + banner pattern: creeper charge = Black creeper charge
built banner + black dye = black fess
built banner + white dye = white per fess
final result: player silhouette.
