CurseForge has this implemented where, instead of overwriting the previous files, uploading a new file is just added to the list. I don't quite understand the way PMC asks for the array of Minecraft version compatibilities if you can only download one file from the post. I'd like to see each file listed so users can select which version they want to download.

If this is about storage space problems, perhaps it would be an opt-in method, where you can mark one main/new file for each version. If you add a new file to the same version, it will overwrite like normal. (In this case, separating versions like 1.16.1 from 1.16.5 would still be important, and shouldn't be merged as just 1.16.x.)
