I would suggest letting the person who uploads the skin have the option to pick a fitting background color, but that might be hard to do with how the skin previewer is set up atm. As for now, people can always change the background manually when they view a skin but I admit that not a lot of people actually do this even when the background color clashes with the skin (and I can imagine that skin makers want to display their skin properly the moment a page is loaded instead of only after the viewer pushes a button).
New Skin Preview Background
I'm not asking for a change with animation features or anything like that, I would just like a color change with the background. I have seen some tickets for new animations, etc. and this is not what I am after. As a skinner, I am finding that the background color sometimes clashes with a color on the skin (especially other blues) or even causes a part of the skin to blend in with the background; thus not looking as appealing as skins that contrast with the color and pop out/catch the eye.
For example, the image of one of my skins below
show that the hair colors comes in contact with the
background and there's a weird hair effect going on.
There could possibly be a change to the neutral stone on
PMC that I've seen, as opposed to changing to plain white,
even though plain white is not a bad idea; I mean come on,
how often does a skin use pure white, right? The colors would
pop out much more and essentially give the viewer a full
impressin of the skin through the preview.
I know I said I didn't want to request a feature but if the
current backdrop is so beloved then maybe there could be
a selection option like on Skindex, where you choose the
background behind the skin so you get a feel of it in-game.
(the neutral stone pattern is behind all of this text, if you were wondering what I was talking about)
Anyways, this was just something that I had on my mind.
