Intro
Many of you might have heard of 9minecraft. It is a site, run by various unknown people, that uploads our content, whether it is protected by a licence or not, and monetises it with adverts. Along with this, they licence the work as their own, which is illegal, even if your work isn't protected by a licence. This is a matter that affects mods, texture packs, datapacks, maps and other PMC projects.
What they do
9minecraft. net is a site run by various unknown (more later) people who take our content and reupload it, with spyware, adware, and ads on the page. The reuploaders are cracked players, meaning there is nothing we can do in the code of our projects to stop them. Once they have downloaded the project, they take new screenshots, a new description, and edit a new thumbnail. They also pretend that you uploaded it, by saying the author is your name:
This is bad. This website, which is illegal and wrong, is stealing our content, adding spyware and malware to it, and giving it to unknowing and trusting members of society who think they are doing good by supporting creators. They have a reviews system, and a views count.
What we know
9Minecraft has a list of all their staff members in their sitemap. I'm not going to list them all, but you can view them by going to their sitemap. Many of the reuploaders (if not all) use cracked Minecraft so we cannot prevent that user from using the project. I've found 2 of the users on CurseForge, but they have never uploaded anything. One of them has one comment on a map. Their submissions are in our name but they include viruses and ads on the submission page. The whole point of this website is to generate money from other's work
What YOU can do
You can raise awareness about these people, so we can all be prepared and protect each other. If someone you know has their pack reuploaded, you can contact them. StopModReposts has a useful list and protection services available, as well as a chrome/firefox/edge extension which will prevent you from accidentally downloading from a site that reuploads packs.
If your pack has been reuploaded, you can contact them on their Contact page. If you do, then they have no choice other than to remove your content, usually with an apology.
And as always, you can share this to raise awareness. Together, we can stop this!

What's hilarious is their ToS:
I'm assuming by "our software" they actually mean the content they steal. Which could mean they might be selling the content on another site, but claim they don't know the people selling it. Oh, and ofc they also absolve themselves of responsibility for any malware or viruses in the stolen content.
Copyright of the site's content... wow, okay sure. Using any of "their" content REQUIRES their written consent, guys. Make sure you don't take it without their permission! We don't have the right to use their content just because they uploaded it. *eyeroll*
We are only allowed to abide by the law of whichever county or city the headquarters of the website owner is in. So essentially, what rights do we have as content creators? Which laws are they breaking? Who knows.
If we don't file a proper legal claim within a month after they did the thing that caused the claim, then we forfeit our right to make a claim at all. But we aren't notified of them stealing our content. Wow... I'm pretty sure this doesn't hold up in court (at least where I live...)
You can't just give yourself rights... You have rights granted to you by your country's law, but you can't just give yourself whatever right(s) you wish.
I am not visiting this site to steal material (including Information, Snapshots, and Source-Codes) to use against the Webmaster, Site Operator Host, or any person in any conceivable manner.
Oh how hypocritical. No stealing, and definitely no stealing to smear the owner of the site.
