Introduction
This is my 6th blog, and it's going to be about.. ... ... you guessed it. Experience.
Experience can mean many things, but here on PMC it is often refered to those little thingies required to level up. As you level up, more experience is required to achive the next level. Personally, I require about 30000 xp to level up just to the next level, when those who are level 1 just require 285 xp points to level up.
Experience, what is it?
Experience here on PMC refers to how high quality your content is. For example, disco is level 99 and his content is always high quality, while a member at level 10 isn't always that good. But this could vary. Everyone starts somewhere. Disco has also been lvl 1, and does that make his content bad? No, I'm sure it was great back then. But I think we all trust a link of a higher leveled PMC member more than a link from a lower leveled PMC member.
Experience dosen't always mean your content is good. There are some members that can be level 40, but they don't have that many subscribers. Why this? Becuse they spam out they low-quality content so much that they'll have 200 submissions with a 100 views and a few diamonds on each.
But this also dosen't have to be bad, there is a type of submissions that have a few diamonds and views on each submission, but they have alot of subs. They're called skinners. Skins give just a little experience per skin, but people sub to them becuse they want more skins.
Experience, how to get it?
As I said before, different types of submissions gives different results. For example, a modder like me has a huuugee amount of experience per submission. But a mod is hard to make, so we don't post them that often. The members see no point in subscribing to them, so we don't get so many subs.
I have made a table below this to demonstrate the different types of submissions that gives different types of results.
Submissions type - Subsribers - XP
Mods - Very low - Very high
Blogs - Very high - Low
Skins - Very high - Very low
Projects - Decent - High
Servers - Super low - Decent
Texture Packs - Decent- - Very high
(decent- means a little bit lower than regular decent)
Think about this when you start on PMC. For example, I am a modder. I have only 340 subscribers at the time I'm writing, but I am level 64. OliverFrenchie, a blogger, is level 47 and has 810 subscribers! More than double the amount of mine!
You might think, level 47 isn't that much away from 64. Trust me, it's a looooong way.
But then there is another thing in this cycle, Moderators. They just get those extra subscribers.
For example, Greytopther and OliverFrenchie both makes blogs of the same quality (both high-quality, ofc). They are both the same level. But then, Oliver has more subscribers. He has 814 subscribers, and Gerytopher has a bit less. I think that's becuse Oliver is a moderator (correct me if I'm wrong).
(Sorry for using you 2 as a example, but it was a super good example and the only one I could find)
Conclusion
Different types of submissions brings different results. At the end, they always lead back to the same result, experience. Subscribers will click your upcoming submissions and lead to more experience. Everything is about experience (well, not exactly everything).
How would the skinners to if they didn't get much subscribers? They would have even lower XP per submission. Experience dosen't mean your good or bad, low amount of subscribers dosen't mean to be bad too, becuse maybe the members on PMC hasn't noted your content yet.
Remember to...
Quick update:
I didn't want to make a whole blog for just this, but anyways.
I will start blogging. I will not quit modding though, I will be some wierd multi-member that will bring you 2 different types of submissions. Hehehehhe :P

- ...diamond if you like it
- ...favorite if you love it
