Minecraft. A game full of mystery and adventure. You can do anything in the wonderful land of Minecraft from relaxing on a beach to exploring the deepest and darkest caves. If you need materials you can go out and chop some wood from a tree or go into a cave and get iron. Caves are mainly what this game is centered around. The caves are used for finding Iron, Diamond, Coal etc.

But something dark lives in the caves... something different from any other creature in Minecraft. No. Its name is... Herobrine.

You see. Back in Minecraft version 1.6, someone reported seeing a "character with the default skin, but his eyes were empty.". Since then more players reported seeing this strange "player" in their worlds. His behavior is odd.

He almost never attacks the player. He instead prefers to stay back and watch you... Usually hiding in the fog if you have a low render distance. Or up on a mountain stalking you with his cold. Dead. Eyes. Some images have in other areas. Like forests. Caves. And even. Inside the players home. Every time you play in your world. He could be right behind you. Watching you.

Some say those ambient noises you hear by caves are really Herobrine making the noises. Disc 11 is alo said to be related to Herobrine in some way. Its said that the end of Disc 11 you can hear someone utter the words "HEROBRINE" before the disc cuts out into a quite static.

Notch him self is aware of the Herobrine lore and has even made jokes about it such as at the end of each update it says "-Removed Herobrine". He has also been seen in Minecraft media like Posters, Advertisements etc.

The biggest sighting is most likely the "Brocraft Stream" where someone by the name of "Copeland" went into a room in his house in Minecraft only to be greeted with Herobrine standing in front of him. He ended the stream and ran out of the room (In real life). It is speculated to be a hoax and that it is just a painting that was retextured into a image of Herobrine. 

Later on another stream was made by "Patimuss" where it showed Herobrine standing in a lava field (Man made) but it was later discovered that he was just trolling.

It is unknown if Herobrine is real or not. One thing is for sure though. He has made a huge impact on the community and has spawned 2 other creepypastas (Entity 303 and Null. Both confirmed fake.). The legend still lives on in Minecraft as a campfire story. Some believe he is real and some think he is fake. Some choose to believe he is real simply because they think its more fun that way! I myself think he is real. But that is just my opinion. 


The only problem some people have with Herobrine is how he can split the community apart because of peoples opinions. He has become a topic that people constantly fight over.

                                                               Herobrine is for sure creepy. But he may or may not be real.
