ThatOneOtter here with a How To on creating faction bases. This time it is on how to create an underground base. To create an underground faction base is a simple feat but a truly good one, is something that the average player cannot grasp. So, lucky for you I am creating this how to! In this how to we will go over:
  1. Finding the right spot
  2. Hiding your cks.
  3. Efficient Base layout
  4. X-ray proofing your base
  5. Preventing Enderpearl glitches
To find the right spot takes some searching. If you find a spot that looks very good and has plenty of trees and natural resources (caves, lakes, etc.) you will find that your base gets raided. Try to find a space that nobody will ever want to make a base in. Use biomes like plains and deserts.
Once you have found the right spot, you will need to cover your tracks. If you randomly hoed the ground stomp it out. If you are in a stone type biome cover tracks with stone not cobble.
For an efficient base layout you need a large center area with smaller tunnels branching out. Use the center area to show what tunnel leads to where. DO NOT dig for no reason and then make dead ends. Make sure each tunnel leads to something like rooms, or enchanting, or maybe farms.
To x-ray proof your base is simpler than it seems, though it may take a fair amount of time. To x-ray a base you need to go a few blocks over it and make a lava lake that looks natural. This will also serve as protection from the occasional miner falling into your base and then spamming your coords in chat.
Ex:
Without Lava Lake: I FOUND A BASE! LOLOLOL! THE PAYPLE WHOO OWYN DIS BAYSE ARE DUM! I FELL RIGHT INTO IT! HA HA HA LOL! HERE AR D COORDZ! [Insert coords here]

With Lake: OWCHIES! I FALLED INTO LAVA AND LOST AWL MY SHTUFF! CAN I HAVE FREE DAIMOND PIYKAXYE? PLEASE111???!!11???

Yes I know bit of an exaggeration, but still... you should get the point. Now, to prevent an enderpearl glitch is simple. Make the outside of your base furnaces so they can't break into the base. (Normally, the block stays gone for a second when someone enderpearls in and claims your stuff. But with furnaces it wont break and says that you cant use this block in this type of territory.
Thanks for reading my How To and hope you liked it! Diamond and subscribe for more!

This guide is meh.
A good underground base would be layered like this:
1. Lava
2. Obsidian
3. Obsidian
4. Crafting Tables (Less expensive than furnaces)
The vault should be very efficient.
The chests should be protected with water/lava.

Very good points there.

Might I add that you need to make sure your base is optimised to your land claims. Each land plot is 16x16, so make rooms efficient make sure you are not digging outside of these borders when making a room. This way you are not wasting land claims, and saving power. Might I add that it's also important to encase your base with obsidian. this is really the only way to protect yourself, and your valuables from being stolen. Someone who is experienced (Like myself) Can tnt their way down ward into your base with enough time, and effort, no hacks required, so lava will prevent roof attacks, but obsidian will stop ALL attacks. Good blog. +1
