So you wanna PvP like a boss, huh?
Well NOW YOU CAN!

Things you'll need to have:
A sword
Some armor, preferably
Bow and Arrow
Most Importantly: Logic.

1) Normal PvP
So a lot of you peeps play on servers. They most probably have PvP like in /warp. SO here are some tactics:

1a) NEVER, EVER go unprepped.
As you guys have different equipment, the oppenent might well be a pro.
Either take all your equipment (factions) or get something expendable (other kitpvp servers) and keep your good shit for later

2) Walls/Bridges/Minefighter PvP

2a) When playing this, you must compete with your team for ores before time runs out. Here are some recommended usages for your ores

Diamonds:
Armor. Craft armor in this order: Boots, Chestplate, Leggings, Helmet
I would recommend against diamond swords as it deals 0.5 damage more than iron sword. Although damage does add over time most of the time if you're given a choice between the two it means context dictates that opponent armor is strong enough not to make any difference.

Iron:
Armor, Pickaxes (For mining faster, but lets be real here noone uses a pickaxe in pvp servers)

3) HG/SG

DISCLAIMER: SOME OF YOU MIGHT DISAGREE. I TRULY RESPECT THAT AND IF YOU ARE KIND ENOUGH TO TELL ME IN COMMENTS BELOW I'D CONSIDER IT. Let's make it learning experiences for ALL of us. :D

3a) Run
At the beginning, you'll see tempting chests/crates waiting for you. If that particular game has grac period, you still should not risk it. Chances are you probably won't get the stuff and there are inevitably better equipment out there. If the server does NOT have GP then all the more RUNNN. The more you distance yourself away from other players the safer you are and the more ichest/crate you can see with items actually INSIDE.

3b) Kill to be better
About 10 minutes into the game you'll start to notice all the crates/chests start to get emptier. This is when you have to find and kill players to get THEIR items, or much needed food for sprint.

What's the enchantment to use, then?
It all depends. If you are naturally good in PvP then you'd consider sharpness or fire aspect. If you need the time to use your Overpowered bow or you have to distance yourself from your foe, knockback is the way to go.

Fire Aspect
When fighting, fire can be useful as it adds to the hurtcam frequency of your foe. The fire FX also blocks their view. At this time, they should be thinking "Oh shit" because fire really makes it seem like they're taking more damage than actual. If you're lucky enough, they'd run away (first hand experience, lol) and thus they cant attack, you can chase them or snipe them down, or give you some leeway. The fire damage adds up to and is regarded as a good PVP enchantment. Fire Aspect 2 stacks in fire damage frequency. Its a huge leap from level 1.

Sharpness
The most dmging ench is this. Kills players faster as it deals +1.25 extra damage. This can build up over time. Huge advantage.
Enchanted sharp stone sword > iron sword...

Knockback
You newb or just not good in PvP, well this can be used for your escape; in skywars context kb is really good because of void. Do watch out though because being on the receiving end of kb is not nice. KB can arguably help in straightlining/combo as it prevents the opponent from attacking you faster than you can.

Punch
A useful bow enchantment. Pushes your oppenent back so you can shoot him once more.

Flame
Ok, same as fire aspect. A reasonably good bow enchantment.

Power
Same as sharpness.

Infinity
Good if there's a limited arrow supply

Tactics

(1.8 working) Go at your enemy, jump and hit them when falling down for critical hit. Sprint and hit them to push them away, this is called wtapping... arguably gives more KB. Blockhitting doesn't look as beautiful as 1.7 but you still can attack unlike in 1.9+

Actual PvP: What to do
Oh shit! some random dude with (shameless plug) Overpowered Armor comes at me! What now? Don't fret. Here are some stuff

1. Do the unexpected. Good weapons are more or less unexpected, stuff like filnt and steel, lava buckets, water buckets, random blocks, cobwebs, cactus, if on sandy environment, snowballs
Flint and steel: Set fire to your opponents. Annoys them, too.
Lets see now: Lava buckets deals loads of damage and slows them down, too, however it might burn their items if they die.
Water buckets: When placed, water pushes them back while it pushes you forward. Don't use it near water sources or it'll fail
Random blocks basically pisses them off because your runnin' away and there you are placing dirt/cobble and they be like "We Hatin'". Blockrunning requires practice and when paired with onestacking it does make a difference when you need to bolt.
Cobwebs are generally a pain in the ass. When placed some dumbass might just run into em. There you can choose to make your escape or crit them out. Projectiles are pretty easy to use. Just rightclick. This will give KB and make it hard for opp to hit you, so you can crit him out.

2. Enderpearls
Yeah sure they're not cheap and they hurt you, so WTF? Well, if you have 2 hearts to spare, these handy things will guarantee your escape, at the cost of 1.5 hearts. Good for a quick escape if you're losing or just not fit for combat

3. Hand items GUI
Arrange your sword and bow together side by side so when the enemy comes just a scroll of a wheel and ta-da, switched weapons. It saves you lots of time and may even save your life, but I personally am already used to pressing the corresponding buttons on the keyboard. Depends on you.

What should be in your GUI at least
Sword, bow, (splash) pot of sorts, blocks, water, projectiles (eggs/snowball), gapples

4. Bows
A bow can push your opponent back, and its good. Let me explain why:

a) Bows with punch and flame (maybe power, too) is good as they can punch opponents far away while constantly hurting them. Damage stacks up enough to tip the balance in a 1v1 confrontation.

5. Potions
Poison is pretty irritating even with milk they can't drink it if you force them into a fight.

On the contrary, keep regen and instant hp on hand. Regen I generally for use after combat. Really slow rate compared to regen 2+. (1 heart in 5 seconds)

6. Milk
Resets all potion FX.

7. Strafing & Aimimg
Run around the opponent so that you hit them and not vice versa. A good tactic I use is approach the opponent then after I get the first hit I start strafing diagonally in a large zig zag pattern but it really depends on you. DPI/Mouse sens is pretty important. Use a mouse without mouse acceleration (doesnt increase unit distance moved with speed of mouse flick). This trains up good muscle memory and can acrually improve aim. Optical sensors don't experience acceleration, some laser ones do but you can turn it off in windows settings. FOV refers to field of view or hoe much you can see. The higher the more things you see but it becomes increasing harder to aim in 1v1. You can't see anything with too low a FOV though. I use a low DPI setting of 800 (sens ~100%) and a FOV of 85ish.

8. Corner them
Corner them and crit the shit out of them. They move less so generally easier to aim.

9. Don't look back
When being chased, run for your life! If you really need to look back, press F5 RAPIDLY twice to switch cameras. Don't break sprint.

11. Use the environment to your advantage
Plains facilitate in easier PvP but exposes you. Cliffs sucks when chasing for both parties, and stuff like that. For example in areas with 2 block height when chasing or running sprint spam jumping makes you move faster.

12. Clickspeed
Surprisingly not important. With a shitty mouse I can manage 6 7 cps, which is pretty decent if you know how to strafe. Upgrading to a gaming mouse which requires less force to press (actuation) may increase cps (mine is 7-8 now). You can attempt to jitterclick (I can't) to get double digit cps rates, but this generally loses accuracy as the entire mouse sorta shakes, so requires practice or just talent????? After every hit, a minecraft entity experiences an invulnerable phase (so that people with autoclicker of 1000cps can't 1 shot anyone). Only after the invulnerable phase is over can you attack. It is observed with a reddening of the entity (hurting). Increase in CPS only closes in on the time it takes to rehit and register the invulnerable phase again - this is like only 0.3 seconds of difference (don't quote me on that). Sometimes its good as the first hit = combo but sometimes jitterclick depends on skill of user, if not strafing really helps to close that cps gap.

13. Lag/Latency
High lag makes game unplayable. As a general rule of thumb 0-50 ms ping (time it takes for your info to register and vice versa) is very good, 50-150 is okay, and 150 to 300 is playable (I play in Asia w/ 300 ping. OK but laggy at times). Ping does not depend on just your ISP or plan but the distance you are from the minecraft server as well as how many otherd are using the WiFi concurrentlyAbove 100 ms ping aiming arrowd become challenging as there is a delay... Don't even bother at 300.

Thanks for taking your time to read this. Comment, sub, and give it a diamond!

Not a bad tutorial, but I think you should talk about actual PVP strategies like straifing or spamming left click.
Half of this is a bit obvious...

Just one Problem , you are supposed to press F5 three times from first-person(default)
and you spelled REALLY wrong. (not trying to be a jerk just constructive criticism)
