Hunter looked down at the creeper sizzling under the tree he was perched on.  By some miracle, it hadn’t noticed him and this, he knew, would be its end.  He had been stalking it for a few hours now (not for any particular reason, he was just bored and had nothing more entertaining to do), but he got caught off guard for a moment by something rustling in the thick woods and nearly blew his cover.


      With impressive speed, Hunter scurried up the nearest dark tree, relying largely on instinct. He took a moment to look around and see if he could find the source of movement in the thick forest. As Hunter suspected, whatever was out there did not want to be found or already ran away. Glancing down at the creeper again, he scoffed softly; This is either the dumbest creature on Minecraftia or the smartest.


      Apparently, it was one of the smarter ones. Hunter dove down, glistening sword first on the beast, and drove the blade into its head. It gave one last hiss and then puffed out of existence, leaving only a pinch of gunpowder as evidence anything ever existed there.  Hunter, however, landed on his head and hit the ground with a rather loud thud. “Ow….Eh, I’ve had a lot worse.” Of course, even though no one was around, he still had to be the toughest guy in the room.


      Hunter heard something off in the distance, “What is that?” His eyes opened wide when he realized what it was. “I know who that is!”


      Ever the hunter, Hunter crept towards the source of the noise staying absolutely silent. Peering from behind a tree, he saw her standing there in the middle of his favorite clearing. She’s even more beautiful than I remember and that’s not even possible because neither of us were programmed to age. Almost serenely, Hunter pulled himself out of a crouch and walked to her.


      “Hello, Alex.” Hunter said masking perfectly his true emotions with a polite smile. Remember, she can’t know you’ve been freed from the system. Alex turned to him and matched his smile with a sparkling shine. Oh, why was she coded so perfectly! Hunter raised an eyebrow in his marksmanship way of questioning her.


      “I’m here to give you a quick heads up.” She glitched out of existence for a split-second and then reverted to her normal, beautiful self. “No, wait no I’m not. I’m sorry…um…. I forgot what I’m doing here.”  She was not able mask that she was lying as well as Hunter. “No. I don’t think you have forgotten, Alex. If you came all the way here to tell me something it must’ve been important. Spill.” Normally, he wouldn’t have been so harsh to her, but his code did still command some things.


      “Yes, yes—“ Alex flinched and glitched again. “No, no, I just can’t think of it, I’m sure. If you give me a moment alone—“ Alex glitched out for even longer this time. Hunter was getting annoyed, “Oh, come on then! Tell me the truth!”


      Finally, Alex stopped glitching out, “Yes, of course, so sorry about that. I don’t know what got into me!” She’s still a bad liar, but I’ll do what I can to get some information out of her…sounded important. “Alright, Alex, what are you doing here?”  


      “About that…funny story really. The Creators informed me not two hours ago that Steve was showing signs of being able to re-enter into Spawn and I needed to make him come to you…somewhat ironic that they wanted him here when his father has been living two biomes away the whole time!” Alex giggled quite madly.


      Hunter took a moment to process the information. Then, slowly, his eyes widened, “Well, if he is coming, I need to prepare my tools!” No way am I letting them put a hand on Steve; he’s my only chance on getting out of here and seeing my family! Hunter began to pretend to smile just as maniacally as Alex; luckily she was distracted by a daisy in the field.
