Time for a HawkBlog!
1. What's in a name?
You might be thinking, what's the point of Minecraft usernames? I mean it makes you identifiable but that's it, isn't it? No, it's not. A username can tell people lots of things about you. Well how? For example, if you saw a player named cod_kid25 you would make you assume that he/she has played or is still playing Call Of Duty. For the same reason, rainbowdash would make you think that player is a brony. cj3425123 would make you look like a complete noob while Majestic_Noob would make you look pretty pro. Minecraft usernames do matter.
2. Making a username
Before making a username, think about your interests. If you like pie or football or pretty much anything else, reflect that in your username. You can also carry over a username from another game, but before I say anything else I'll need to say something that bothers me the most. Do not use numbers in your username unless it is completely necessary, even just one number such as JohnJohn8 can look a bit noobish to others. It is a sign of almost no originality in most usernames. Even if the number is relevant like JohnJohn1994, it still falls under the category of numbers. Most people I've known put numbers in their name because the original username they wanted was taken. For example, say you wanted the username Pootis_Heavy and it was taken. Instead of making Pootis_Heavy2323, make it PootisHeavy or even PootiZheavy. I have a friend I know who really wanted the username Terminator. When he discovered it was already taken, he changed it to Termnator instead of Terminator88 or xXTerminatorXx. If you are attempting to get involved in YouTube or the rest of the Minecraft Community, it is harder for people to remember a YouTuber named Kash4564 then KashZ. The sum it all up, Be Original!
3. Be prepared for nicknames!
Many players know that when you're on a server for a long time and people see you as a regular, you usually take on a nickname unless your username is amazingly short. I've been called Hawk, short for Hawkstormer and Termnator's been called Term. Keep in mind that chances are people will use a nickname of your username. This will not affect you much but remember than no matter how much thought you put into a username, most people will not utilize the whole of it. But that's okay!
Leave a Diamond if you liked it!
