After repelling a zombie invasion earlier that day and sleeping in for several hours, IGEBM, Si, and Storm are ready for a normal day on Shiver Island. Unfortunately for them, nothing is ever normal on this island.
IGEBM relaxes in the living room, practicing his map-making skills by drawing a detailed map of PMC from memory. Storm walks out of the kitchen with a bowl of tortilla chips to snack on, and sits down next to his friend. He reads a book on computer anatomy. While they chill in the living room, Si lays on his bed, listening to music. Suddenly, they all hear a loud clanking sound coming from the woods. Si rushes downstairs. "Did you hear that?" he asks. "'Cause I could through my earphones." "Yeah, I heard it." IGE answers, finishing his drawing of Morbid Island. "Should we investigate it?" Storm wonders. Si nods. "I kinda want some adventure today anyways." he says. They laugh and get ready to leave.
After heading outside, they run towards the woods, not just because it's where the sound appears to be coming from, but also to hide from the rain under the thick dark oak leaves. "Let's just follow the sound, I guess." IGE says, leading them in the direction of the clanking. "What do you think could've caused it?" "Probably a ghost." Storm responds. "Probably, but I meant what object could be causing it." IGE explains. "Especially since I haven't seen any metal stuff in the woods that could be causing the clanking. "Guess we'll find out when we get there." Si says. They keep walking, and IGE checks his watch, seeing that it's 13 minutes to midnight.
After about 12 minutes of tiring walking, they make it to the source of the clanking: a metal forge, abandoned and rusting, but lit. The warmth of the fire welcomes them, and they come closer, upon which they feel a presence. A hammer is lifted without anyone picking it up, and it begins to be used to shape a sheet of netherite. IGE, Si, and Storm step back, scared. "Wait, is it really you guys?" a familiar voice asks. A gloved hand begins to materialize, holding the hammer, while another appears holding the metal sheet in place. The accompanying body starts to appear, and soon, the spirit forging is revealed to be none other than that of Chaos, the former leader of the Forge, who died during the Fall of PMC City many months ago!
