It's been exactly one year since I have posted a blog story about my absolutely fantastic time meeting and interacting with people on the PMC Survival Multiplayer Server. So... here is another story that might relate to some upcoming announcements. ;)

The Beginning place
I began my career on the SMP with one mindset, spread positivity and have some fun while doing it. To me, taking something as silly as Minecraft seriously ruins all of its potential. So that's why I spent everything I owned on a possibility, a chance.

When I arrived back to the SMP after a holiday break taking some time off to focus on school and real life (if only Minecraft could be reality) I hosted a small joke of a get-together into what I now call the Midnight Tea Party. If you have read my previous Blog, it was a huge success and one of my defining favorite moments on the server. Without mentioning all of the wonderful people I came back to and interacted with, I had pitched the idea to a few people to make a bigger and better event- with the same style and positive vibes of course.
If you couldn't guess by now, there was one person in particular who encouraged and even wanted to help execute the idea: EleanorRose.

The Production extension
So we started just like that. Like a blur, we began crafting and building a hall for everything to go down- don't forget in survival mode. We decided to try for Valentines to promote this theme of positivity and appreciation and that date lined up with our estimated production deadline! We snagged a spot close enough to spawn (x:-300, z:-20) and terraformed the heck out of it into the now dubbed Love District, named by the one and only Chiaroscuro- who after the event has done such an unbelievable job, literally look at this, how?!

So the time came to promote and run the event, as someone who had never had real experience hosting an event of this caliber I- to be frank, both of us -was going in entirely blind. With some decent site-wide wallposts and forums about the SMP containing an event all about love we originally thought it wasn't going to be as big as we hoped, six maybe eight people would show up I thought? But alas the date arrived, February 12th of 2021!

The First Event was Targets!
Constructed by Overlord_Aqua_2, a simple egg toss became a line of twenty people- WAIT TWENTY PEOPLE SHOWED UP?! Yep, even with my crappy sign-up sheets located in a tube above spawn (shown in the blog thumbnail), my promotions somehow worked and not to mention made two guests of honor show up to the event: Cyprezz and PMC!
It was chaos, a swarm of people waited for two first-time hosts to arrange a line of people to throw eggs at a wall. A simple task to hit four targets, that's it.

The Second Event was a Scavenger Hunt!
Hidden around the mainland of spawn (before the lag :), eight chests included some Pal-entine's Pennies and your goal was to follow some extremely clever riddles (that I'm still proud of 'til this day) to the chests and loot them. Once all eight were found the teams went back to the hall for a debrief. The scavenger hunt didn't go too bad but I may have forgotten a lot of the chest locations were locked from claimed land on the server and flew to everyone in a panic. Yikes... but they didn't notice though, heh.

The Third and final Event was Block Hunt!
After a grueling amount of planning there was one thing we missed... the riddles for the block hunt. This event incorporated the survival aspects of the PMC server really well... maybe too well- I'll explain in a bit. After given a swiftly made riddle, the contestants would have to give either host that correctly defined block. Say if I made a riddle referring to diorite they would have to find that specific item in a personal chest or mine it from a nearby cave and throw the item to either myself or Ele. So we began the game as usual, MrsPMC and EleanorRose watching the crowd become antsy from above in the gardens. So I gave them their first riddle...…..
THE ENTIRE GARDEN TO SHREDS! The first block was a bone block and surely everyone thought we were gravedigging! I can't even be mad, it was funny as hell watching people immediately dig down.
There were three major players who performed extremely well, and didn't destroy my land, during this final game: realgnatthew, @blubtatu, and Havingfun_ISKEY.

Even though the expectations were probably lowered, as well as the garden by a few feet, I wouldn't have traded that original opportunity for anything. The people I got to meet, entertain, work with, and perform for were more than worth it. Yeah we had a few bumps in the road but what's the fun in a smooth ride? I must say for anyone who was able to attend, or even wanted to attend but couldn't due to conflicts, I want to say thank you. Hosting events like this was one of my dreams and it was just perfectly chaotic. Hopefully my mindset of spreading positivity worked.

So... what's next? Well... another Pal-entine's Day! Yep, it's happening and bigger and better than you've seen it before! If it hasn't been revealed and made public yet there is an absolutely fancy-approved Pal-entine's Day Community Group made just for this community who has or wants to attend. It'll keep you updated and help support future events!
