Popularity. A lot of people are obsessed with this, so much so that they create and post just to get more popular than they were the day before. Gone for them is the joy and reason of posting and creating for the fun of it, or so that other people can have something good to use/look at/enjoy in some other way. They no longer work for the community's bettering, but for the popularity that comes with posting.

This is a little sad, actually. Yes, being more popular means that more people are likely to see your posts and creations, but it should never become the soul purpose of your work. Working for popularity will make it much harder to work and enjoy yourself further down the line when you're so popular it becomes hard to get more popular. These people are setting themselves up for a painful dead-end.

Don't get me wrong, I love seeing that more people are viewing and subscribing and diamonding and all that, I really do. Though to me it means I'm making quality work that people enjoy and like to read/view/use, not "ooohhhhh.... I'm more popular now!" I have always worked for the betterment of the community, and always will, no matter how popular I get.

And no, not everyone does it, and very few people actually do. People still do it though, and that makes me sad. If you're one of them, you might want to take another look at why you do what you do, and try making it about the fun, and the betterment of the community, rather than solely for getting more people to "like" you in one way or another.

Yeah, this one was a lot shorter than my previous work, but I hope those who read it still like it, and can get something from it.
