Introduction

I've been looking around submissions on this site, as well as others that aren't related to Minecraft, and I've noticed that a lot of people like to just do stuff, and not make it any good. Things like blogs that give only 3 sentences about something really stupid that only the subscribers would MAYBE care about. Some people even do it when they have no experience levels nor subscribers, which leaves a lot of precious slots on the submissions list for ones that are sincere and well thought out.

Or maybe the post is well thought out and sincere, but the grammar and spelling make it either illegible and impossible to understand, or make the person look so stupid that nobody actually benefits from the creation, whether it be a blog, the name and description of a server or work of building, or some other thing on some other site or place of collaboration.

Luckily, there are those of us who want to help. I can see the value of a post, and if it seems like there's a good idea hidden in the spelling and grammar mistakes, I will try and alert the poster to them, to hopefully draw more, and better, attention to the post.

However, it would be better if people could make better posts to start with, rather than start out with a bad reputation. So, if people read and follow these tips, they should be A-ok.

What to do when posting

1. Make sure you actually have an idea when you post. This has got to be beaten into the head of people who post pointless, stupid, and/or repetitious posts. It's really stupid to type a whole post repeating crap that has no actual base behind it, it's just wasting precious space.

2. Once you have an idea, make sure you convey it properly, and do it well enough for people to understand what you're saying. It doesn't matter how good your idea is, if you don't explain it right, someone may just steal it and do it better, or people may just ignore you, no matter how good and/or right you are. You could have the best idea in the history of ideas, and it may get ignored if you can't explain yourself properly.

3. Stop writing when you've made your point. You don't have to make your post super-long if you already got your point across. If you really think it needs more, change it as you come up with more ideas to put into it, in ways that won't make your post incredibly long.

4. No matter where you're posting, or for what reason, make sure your text that goes with it pertains to the non-text portion, possibly explaining it or giving some interesting information on it.

5. Make your posts pertain to as many people as possible. If you can't see your post being read, used, enjoyed, or helpful to a large number of people, you probably shouldn't post it. Or you could try to find a way to refine it to apply to a larger number of people.

6. Make sure your idea is new, or at least not overstated before. If it is, then try to add more to it to make yours more special, and less like it's the three hundredth time someone has read it.

7. Use capital letters correctly. This is another one that annoys people, improper capitalization. Your title should follow the proper rules (all major words have their first letter capitalized, any words 3 letters or shorter do not), never all caps or no caps, or you look really stupid. Do Not Write Like This. Capitalizing every word is not only wrong, but it drives people insane. It's not pleasing to the human eye in any way, and will usually make someone focus on the caps instead of your actual post, which totally ruins the point of posting.

8. Don't jump on any bandwagons. If something is really popular at the time, and people are posting about it a lot, then please please please PLEASE do not make another post on it, unless you've got something very new and orriginal related to it, If you post just to post along the lines of something that is popular at the time, then people are lead to believe you can't come up with ideas of your own, or that you need something to be popular to want to post content about it, which only helps kill popular things faster.

9. Apostrophes. If you don't know what those are: " ' ". I see so many people using them in the wrong place, or contracting words that shouldn't be contracted. Things like "This house has a great roof, it's walls are made of wood." That's not the right way to use that, that person just stated that "it is walls are made of wood", and anyone who knows how to properly read will think you're very unintelligent.

10. Don't use words if you don't know/aren't sure what they mean. Big words aren't for everyone, and most people don't want to read overly complex posts. I use bigger words because that's how I talk in the real world, but I try and cut down on my use of them to make as many people who read my posts capable of understanding what I'm saying as I possibly can.

11. Format your posts. Use the formatting tools provided by wherever you are posting to add things like headers, lists, spoilers, and links to make your post pretty. Even those people who use good grammar can make themselves look a lot better by making their text itself more pleasant looking.

12. Make sure that your custom work looks good. If you're uploading say, a custom picture to go with your blog, make sure it's readable(if it has text), and that its colors don't clash and hurt someone's head. Corny pictures aren't much of a good idea either, as they just make most people go "eugh" and move right past your submission.

13. Either post in bullets of some sort, or in paragraph form. Random bodies of text neither look good nor make much sense to a reader. basically, keep your post organized and nice looking on the eye, and you'll get a lot better feedback.

14. After you have posted, don't forget to update the post as you find spelling/grammar errors, or think that you can add more information to the original post. Don't just let a post sit there and gather dust, especially if you have some great ideas behind it!

15. Try not to insult anyone's intelligence. Honestly, there's nothing I hate more than reading a post that makes me feel as though the poster thinks that their better than me and everyone who reads their post. Most of the time, this is accidental, so just be careful not to do this.

16. Follow the rules the first time. This applies if the place you're posting to has them, but that's most places so it should be here. If somebody has to tell you that you've broken a rule, you're going to be watched more closely than you used to be, and may even get non-rulebreaking posts removed just because they're close, or you may change something to break the rules. Much easier to just follow them in the first place.

17. Totally ignore the character minimum if the place has one. If you can't post past the limit, you're idea is either crap or not explained well enough. If you go past the limit, then just type and type and type, you'll know when you're finished.

Closing

If you follow those steps outlined above, you're posts will be way better than if you ignore them, trust me. If you're posts are more comprehensable, and easier to read by a majority of people, then you will most likely get way more views, comments, and diamonds, thus spreading your word around more, which we all know you want!

The Usual Diamond and Comment Crap

If you have any ideas to add to this, just post in the comments down below and I'll consider them!
I'd also like to hear your opinion on these, and the people who don't follow them, in the comments!

Don't forget to subscribe, favorite, and diamond if you liked it!

No problem :D

I made a new post using some of your ideas :D
I also have a suggestions for your list.
Ask for feedback. If you ask for feedback 20/100 people will give you feedback (statistic taken from a real life scenario), or as a variation, Ask for suggestions. Basically give your "viewers" a chance to say what they wan on the topic of your post. They may make suggestion or not, but it is higher probability that they WILL give feedback :D
As I said, a suggestion.

Great blog! One thing I really hate is when Every Word Is Capitalized, I leave those blogs as quickly as possible before my brain cells start to disintegrate in response to the pure stupidity of writing like that. The blogs with only a few sentences make me rather mad as well; minimal effort deserves minimal reward.
