Popularity of Servers

In the following blog I will be explaining different methods to help your server achieve popularity:

1. Bukkit plugins

Bukkit plugins are almost-essential for your server to succeed. While there are well-known vanilla servers, plugins such as Essentials, WorldGuard and Lockette will give your server many capabilities.

2. Spawn

Many server owners spend way too much of their time building a beautiful spawn to give a lasting impression to the players. This is unnecessary. Although it is a good idea to build something more than just a tiny dirt house, a huge mansion is not needed for most servers.

3. Be different

Nearly every server nowadays is a Faction server. This is boring! Do something like RPG, war or prison - while these servers are relatively common, it is easier to advertise your server amongst a smaller pool of servers.
