Thanks for the feedback, this feature is added and release (and off by default, turn it on in Radar settings)
I've added experimental support for randomobs to Zan's Minimap. I like the look, but I am not sure if I want to release with it enabled. It makes it harder to tell at a glance what mob is represented by an icon. Randomobs are fine in game, since each mob has an easily distinguishable body shape. Most of the icons though (based on the head) are just squares. If each and every one has a different texture, I worry it can get to be a mess.
What do people think? Do I include this or not? Third option is make it user configurable. If that, default to on or off?
Also, this only works with MCPatcher installed. Optifine does randomobs I think, but it's entirely closed source, so I can't really see what if any method to call to get an entity's current skin. *Scratch that* optifine working too, though as usual it took 5 times as long
