Mr_Pwnz0r here today with something a little different. But to be specific, that something is Squid etiquette. To put it in other words, it's the way you should act [SQUID SWAG!] as an official Squidhead without disobeying the society rules, and to give us a good name as a group. This is basically just a blog about the rules, just a little more specific and complex. How o bout we get started?
To begin with, sure, being part of the team is great and all, but there is no need to boast about it. This recommendation isno t necessarily for right now, but more for when we close applications, and many haveno t got the chance to apply. If you were to brag about being in the society, you would be breaking rules number 2 and 3. It breaks number 2 because youo re not allowed to troll, and it breaks number 3 because ito s not respectful to other PMC goers. Personally, I think bragging is a form of rudeness, and like it says in the rule, it gives us a bad name as a group, and is just disrespectful. As a Squid, we do not disrespect others, and follow the rules.
Second, post good work. There isno t much to expand on with this rule, just post original work at your best quality possible. Just like the other rules, not following this will create a bad reputation for the group in other peopleo s eyes. Not only is it a society rule, but ito s an official PMC rule, so just dono t do it. The Royal Squid Societyo s main goal right now is to post quality work and keep it that way for years to come. If you post low-quality work, we will never accomplish our main goal.
There are many ways to show off our o Squid Swag,o here are a few examples. Like most hubs, groups, and societies, we have our own signatures and logo for official submissions. Not only do these things advertise the group, but they look pretty epic on your profile and signature list [ :3 ]. You should also put the logo on all of your submissions [Brought to you by the squid society as well] that you plan on making for the Society. You'll find the link to the profile and submission logo on the bottom of the blog. The forum signature is on the official Royal Squid Society forum page. Another great way to show off your awesomeness is by participating in contests. Especially now, since there are so many different categories to choose from! Not only do these contests earn you respect among fellow members, but a reward as well [Usually a promotion :{B]. Currently, we have a few uniforms. You'll find the links to a few of my favorites at the bottom of le blog along with the logo. My last piece of advice for showing off your squid swag is to socialize throughout the group! Make friends, introduce yourself, provide feedback and do everything you can to socialize with your fellow Squidheads.
