HOLD YOUR HORSES!
Before everyone jumps onto the band wagon about the new Warner Bro's movie allegedly taking place. Let me tell you about a small film production's dream being crushed by this. Don't get me wrong, any minecraft movie would be great, but I am a huge fan of the production company that was beaten by Warner Bro's.
BIRTH OF MAN
If you know that title, then you may understand why I am upset. You may know the youtube channel "FeddieW" or as it is now known "RocketJump". The co-founder Brandon Laatsch came out with a conceptual trailer for 'Birth of Man' and started a Kickstarter campaign online to raise $600,000 for a 'funded by the community for the community' type of deal.

This was brought to a halt by Mojang when Markus tweeted:
Meaning that Brandon did not sort out any rights to Mojang's interlectual property, which brought the project to a standstill with just $63,980 raised. This money was then refunded to the backers of the campaign (including me as I also donated). Supporters like myself were then kept in a state of silence from Mojang and Brandon, which left us confused as to what was going to happen!
THE ANSWER
So now, supporters of the movie have been given the answer as to why such a great movie was shut down. Mojang had been arranging a movie with Warner Bro's and that is totally understandable. I am not in any way implying that Mojang did anything wrong because it is business, they had the choice to reel in the big fish or the little fish; Warner Bro's naturally being the big fish.
My wish is that Warner Bro's cut off some slack to Brandon and the team and find some way to include them on the ride as they were so passionate about their movie, and to see that dream be crushed just unsettles me deeply. As an aspiring film maker I understand how fustrated Brandon must be about this, the film industry is a dog eat dog business.
THANK YOU
My last blog was recieved very well by the PMC community, being only my 2nd blog it managed to make it's way onto the blog highlight reel! I got great feedback from fellow bloggers, including one of my favourites NetherApprentice. I woke up to see all this possitivity and my day was good from the start! It was that much better afterwards because I went to a real life coal mine 300ft below with my girlfriend for the day... but that my friends, is for another day to blog about
