As the head of the miner community, Steve had plenty of jobs. Although he made the rules, and was basically the president of Miners Inc., he still found time to go down to his favorite mining spot and dig around for jewels. He loved the danger of random mobs trying to eat his brain, suck his blood, basically trying to get him dead in any way. He loved hunting for the shine of gold, iron, and diamonds. He loved exploring the massive caves and ravines that surrounded him. However, on this trip, he wasn't having fun. The community was dying.
They were only allowed a certain amount of land, and that land was running out of unrenewable resources. The ore reserves were slowly disappearing. Steve needed the ore that would end all that, give them jewels whenever they needed them. That ore would save Miners Incorporated. He needed the Ore. When a world was created, the Ore spawned first out of anything, even bedrock. It was the most valuable and wanted jewel in all of Minecraft. That's why Steve was on a mission to find it. The only thing was. . . it could be anywhere in the 100x100 square they were allowed.
He mined here, there, everywhere, trying to find the Ore. Finally, deep in a ravine, he saw it. The Ore. . . surrounded by lava. This was going to be harder than he thought. First, he made a fresh iron pickaxe, using all of the iron he had left. Then he carefully picked his way to the Ore, avoiding lavafalls on his way. Jumping to the ore, he stared, speechless. Finally. He had done it. He started mining it. As the hardest block in Minecraft, this was going to be tough to crack, but Steve could do it. He knew he could. He had to. He zoned out of everything around him and put all his concentration on the valuable block in front of him. Steve never noticed the zombie and the spider, creeping slowly towards him.

Everything depended on that Ore not being mined. Well, everything for the monster world. The Ore kept them safe and protected, spawning them on the surface at night, and keeping the supply of monsters up. If it was mined by a Player, the monster population would slowly disappear. No more monsters. Guards were keeping it safe 24/7. One zombie and one spider were guarding it that night.

With limited supplies, Steve wanted to conserve supplies. He only had a wooden sword on him the night he died.
This was for the Lego contest, but with a 250 word limit (I'm angry :I), I can't enter. Enjoy! <3
