this is a little story i thought up recently, with the setting based off the "featured image"
is there a better name for that?

i watched the movie Lady Hawke recently, so uh i think that might have taken over my writing style 😅
i take a lot of inspiration from what movies i watch twt

the indentation is also non-existent, but hey, that's PMC mobile for you
just let me use my spaces please
i'll have to remember to fix it when i get back home

i'm always open to criticism/critique on my writing <3

He tossed his bag into the crimson-leaved shrubbery. "We'll make camp here for the night." I slid off the tall black stallion and tossed the reins over the slender branches of the nearby bushes, hoping that one of them would catch on the rope and secure the horse. The suns fiery light began to die out as they settled below the horizon.
"Nice view," I stated, placing my hands on my hips. I furrowed my brow as I noticed a darker blob among the vibrant burning sea of leaves. "I think that I'll go on a short walk, if that's okay?" He shrugged and tied Margo's reins to a branch properly.
"Fine as long as you don't go too far."
  "I won't."
I waded through the waist high grasses and plants towards the object I had seen towering in the distance, stumbling as my feet misstepped and buried themselves in dusty mole hills. "Damn it," I muttered, "Now I've got pebbles in my shoes. Which is surprising, seeing as we've traveled so far and it hasn't happened until now." I looked to the west. At the edge of the rolling hills and shrub land a thin sliver of the sea was visible, just below the horizon. "We've traveled so far, yet we still have so far to go," I groaned and continued on my journey. "So far and long to go."
Wiping the sweat that beaded on my forehead with the back of my hand, I sighed happily in the shade of the ruined building I had hiked to. I ran my hands down the crumbled section of wall. Whatever this structure had been, it had fallen apart long ago, only a far corner of the build remained. "How long have you stood at watched over this lonely terrain?" I asked the cool stone. "You probably wouldn't tell me, a stranger, that though, even if you could talk."
"It was built forty years ago, by the men of King Wilhiem, to watch over these hills, right before the Talabathians declared war. It was shot down with the dreadful mobile cannons early on, by Syncand mercenaries hired by Talabathia."
"I didn't see you there!" I turned to the darkly clad warrior. He came up and stood beside me, gazing towards the sea.
"We still have a hard journey ahead of us. Soon we won't have the luxury of a full night's rest." I groaned.
"Sometimes I regret getting myself indebted to you. At least you get a bed in prison."
"I rescued you from the gallows," he said, aghast.
"I take back what I said. This is slightly better."
