Used coal
we all love the nether.
Well, that may not be true but pretty much all of us think the nether has it own sharm. we get that awesome looking glowing stones from there. without the nether, we shouldn't be able to win the game.
But the rest of the nether is just boring.
an endles generated chunk of red stone.
I know Mojang talked about adding a new ore to the nether in the minecon 2012,
But that ore seems to be a rare ore. I Would love mojang to put that ore into the game, but i would also like them to add Used coal.
The used coal will be used for many things, it will be as an upgrade when you are tired of mining the regular coal. As you see in my video, the ores are pretty
hard to locate. that is planed. you should really look close onto the walls and search for the Used coal in a while before really finding it. When you find it, you will get atleast half a stack.

* The coal itself is two times faster in the oven then a regular coal.
* Is used to craft the Used torch, wich gives out two times more light.
* Is also used to craft the Used block wich creepers does not like. (they keep away from it)
With this idea, you would not have to worry about the creepers inside your house.
Q. "but we allready have ozelots to do the job!"
A. Yes, we have ocelots. but listen to this. You have a big place full with creepers. your job is to move the creepers away. you drag a lever and a blockswitch will change the middle of the floor to Used blocks and you can safe walk across.
and also. blocks cant die. the only way the block would be removed by a mob is if an enderman take it. but as long as you have the block in a flat ground, he wont be able.
The cats will still be needed, it might take a while to find enough ores to protect your house, and the cats are still uber cute to look at. :)
the Used coal will be as an upgrade after defeating the dragon.

It may not make much sense, but the coal is kinda cursed. it lies some sort of spell on the coal. not telling more.
