Hey there, just a quick note for anyone who might be wondering about the existance of the "PMC Overlay Mod" by me which I put up on PMC several days ago. You guys really seemed to like it and I just want to make sure that you know why this mod doesn't exist anymore.

As simple as apple pie: it got deleted due to breaking the submission rules. Well ... not really the submission rules, but the Terms of Use which are located in the footer on this page. I nearly searched for one hour to find the rule which the mod defied and apparently I broke two rules at one time.

"... you agree that you shall not: 5: Collect information about other visitors to our website without their consent or otherwise systematically extract data or data fields ...; 8: Intentionally alter the format in which site data is provided by us or otherwise circumvent our regular interfaces to such data ..."

I don't want to mention the name of the person who deleted my mod (because I don't want a beef to come up), but this person included a possibility to get access to the site data in his/hers reason of deletion.

"Unless we specifically authorize your usage, or we open a public API, we can't endorse something like this."

So I quickly sent a message to that person including my request for a permission and the answer was quite convincing and expected.

"... we don't want people scraping the HTML to form content. It's unsafe, could change at any time and is just a nightmare for both of us ..."

That's about it. The mod will get reuploaded as soon as one of the cases in the quote above becomes operative, but I'll guess, me and you, we need to wait. I still have some more ideas to go but unfortunately I don't have a lot of time to keep developing new mods. I'll keep coding and see how things will become.
