Many people think 1.9 is bad. But hopefully this article will make you realise that it not only introduces awesome stuff, but it could also help save Minecraft.
But you may be asking yourself: "How will it save MC?" or "What will 1.9 save MC against?". Don't worry. It will all get answered.
First of all, it would be good to undestand what is the thread to Minecraft. Well, many people have been complaining about "power-thirsty 9 year olds" or "dumb, status quo following to death servers (factions, prison, etc.)". I agree with them although most of these people are "Beta players" while I joined in only 1.8. Mind blown, right? How can someone from 1.8 complain about too young players? But i want to help protect MC too, but in, what I think, a lot more effective way. 1.9. 1.9 does all the things needed to solve those problems, but those beta players say it will RUIN MC even more, as it makes the game too complex. But this is where it gets interesting. Minecraft needs more stuff. It may be a sandbox game, but there is only some much stuff that is interesting enough that can be good, and can be done by not redstone geniuses, the people that make a large part of the communnity. But here is the kicker: people LOVE mods. 70% of the communnity use mods because "vanilla is too boring" or "to add something amazing". And a lot of these are beta players. Where is the sense in that? 1.9 is addind so much new stuff, but people complain about it, while loving mods. Strange right? People mainly think MC is becoming too complex. But then why do they like mods more? 1. Because they are more relatable. People have more of a say about what is being created. 2. It is optional. Sure updates are too but more and more thingswill be updated to have access to more stuff. But why do people like the beta versions? Because it is all linked to the first problem of too young players and not interesting servers. See how it is all linked? Amd the new PVP, not only adds more awesome to the game, but it also adds in more natural selection in the communnity. And before you say "all players should be treated the same", consider this. Natural selection happens everywhere. So it makes sens to happen here. But also it helps filter the communnity. Also if you think it is offensive, consider this: are you maybe a bit overreactive?
But then is also the servers. And another feature of 1.9 I love. It causes trouble for plugins. I love it for 2 reasons. 1. I own a vanilla server and many people auto think vanilla=bad, so hopefully it will help bring justice. 2. It will cause trouble for the servers that are "ruining Minecraft" But you might be saying "we need more servers the the communnity will grow". True, but only servers that actually bring something great for the communnity. The creative (not talking about the game mode), unconventional, and unqiue servers are not that popular with only a few going into the big league.
I hope this helped you undestand what 1.9 brings to the table.
Thanks for reading.

Even though I completely respect well maintained vanilla servers and their owners, it is undeniable that programming plugins is way easier and less complex than creating the same mechanics in vanilla minecraft. That being said, it also offers way more flexibility and most plugins do not cause any lag, contrary to huge amounts of redstone and command blocks.

justice? Your saying that justic is destroying the dreams of those who want to be popular server owners and destroying the hard work of those who wielded night and day, shed blood sweat and tears just to get their server on top, just because you can't get your server popular? I find that pathetic....
There are those who work night and day, shed blood sweat and tears just to get their server to the top. All of the people that helped then make that server DESERVE all the money, fame, pride, titles that they earned. But then there are those who just get a server and put some random stuff together and try to get people on to get popular and then complain how hard it is...which one are you? Do you deserve to complain? Have you put 100% into your server?
