Installation:

  1. Download the latest version;

  2. Drop "auto-utilities-crops-datapack.zip" inside '.minecraft/saves/<world>/datapacks' folder(how to open .minecraft folder);

  3. Launch minecraft;

  4. Join the world, with cheats on, type /reload;

  5. If you received a message in the chat, it means Auto Utilities: Crops was successfuly installed! Type /trigger AutoCrops to open the datapack settings.




This datapack will add some features for hoes that will make your life a lot easier.

Tilling: Everyone already knows this one, the difference is that I tweaked so mycelium can be tilled as well, but the nice thing here is that if you sneak and right-click a block that can be tilled, it'll till in 3x3 area! (Be careful though, it will consume the tool for the extra tilled blocks as well).

Planting: You can plant a crop by holding the seed/item in your offhand(Holding the hoe in your mainhand). This feature also lets you plant crops in a 3x3 area, but it won't damage your tool, so plant your crops without worries!

Replanting: Here it comes the most interesting. Right-click on a fully grown crop holding a hoe to instantly replant it! The items will magically be added to your inventory and it'll consume the required seed/item to replant the crop. For the lazy ones, this feature also follows the sneak to 3x3 area rule, but it will consume your tool so it's not that op, of course.

Smart Tilling: Hoes won't till if the land is too dry(there is no water in the surroundings). It can be disabled through settings using /trigger AutoCrops.

    I highly recommend for everyone that downloaded 2.0 to immediately update the datapack. Fixed some problems regarding click detection and some small tweaks.

    Dunno when this will be updated by the author, but if you want to use this for 1.18 you need to update the yellow_shuker_box loot table in the datapack so you don't lose your hoe when right-clicking.

    AutoCrops > data > minecraft > loot_tables > blocks > yellow_shulker_box.json

    Look for this on line 51:

    "function": "minecraft:set_contents",

    And add part this below on line 52:
    "type": "minecraft:shulker_box",

    Is it normal for villagers to be dieing in the void beneath my feet while cropping?
    I have a datapack that reports villager deaths. I'm getting spammed when using a hoe

    Some other issue too. It happens that I can't use the hoe to break blocks anymore. In this 1.16 update that is a big bummer since the hoe just became a lot more useful. I think you spawned an armor stand in front of the player when he uses a hoe so everytime I try to break a block it seems like I'm hitting the armor stand.

    Your attacks and mining are blocked by the method I use to detect right-click, villagers are constatly teleported to your location and the click is tracked through them. Unfortunately there is no better way to detect right-clicking with a hoe. I'm trying to develop a quick way to switch between improved hoes and mining blocks, when I find a nice method I'll update the datapack as long as possible.

    Is the datapack installed correctly? Type /function autocrops:uninstall followed by /function autocrops:install.

    Yep, I tried in every way to make it work. But it's only the 3x3 effects that is not working.
