    Better Winter Storms

    Ever wonder why normal Rain and Thunderstorms are the exact same in snow biomes? Well now they aren't! When it storms in a snow biome, it is now a Blizzard! I introduce to you Better Winter Storms, with winds so strong, your arrows immediately fall back to the ground, and temperatures cold that you can freeze to death.


    This datapack aims to add immersion and adventure to your worlds. It isn't complete yet, so stay tuned for a few more updates.



    Features:
    • Blizzards appear in snowy biomes when it is thunder storming.
    • Snow accumulates more when it is storming.
    • Snow accumulation happens ONLY when Blizzards occur. All game rules are changed back when the storm ends.
    • It snows more during Blizzards.
    • Players slow down when they are in the Blizzard due to the high wind speeds.
    • Players' hearts start to freeze if they stay in a Blizzard for too long. Each time our hearts freeze, you can't get it back until you leave the Blizzard.
    • If Players stay close to a source of heat, their hearts stop freezing, but it is still too cold inside the storm to unfreeze their hearts.
    • Snow drifts off of the player as they walk through the storm.
    • Arrows shot by any mob are hit by gusts of winds and fall to the ground.

    I do have a question about the blizzard golem that can be found in the resource pack you shared. What are its summoning requirements?

    It isn't implemented yet sadly I ran out of time for the dataapack jam :(
    I plan on adding some normal snow Golem spawns during storms and having a special head drop. Then you can summon it similar to making a golem.

    Once voting finishes, I will continue development of the pack.

    might there be a way to make it so if you in a player's build you won't take damage?

    For now, setting down torches will help. I plan on adding building a structure or going underground in the next update to the pack. There aren't too many good ways to detect being in doors and this pack was made for a datapack jam, so I was limited on time.
