Great for servers as well!
Latest most Optimized version available on Modrinth
Glowing Features:
- All Items
- Entities on Fire
- Lit TNT
- Glowing Glow Squids
- Entities with Glowing effect
- All Allays
- Enchanted items & armor
Includes a Config Menu [see images above]
where you can toggle the glowing features, or 'uninstall' to disable all dynamic lights before you remove the datapack from the datapacks folder
FAQ:
Does it work underwater?
It works underwater! (not flowing water)
How laggy is this datapack?
It should require less than 50% of the system resources than similar datapack do. Unless there are too many dynamic lights or a huge number of players online, performance should take no hit at all.
How do I install this datapack?
Just like any other datapack, go look for a tutorial :|
Are there any limitations?
Because the datapack uses 'light blocks', dynamic lights will stop working if players are inside no-collision blocks. This happens with any dynamic lights datapack.
Can I use this datapack in a map?
If you have light blocks in your map, players with dynamic lights walking through them will delete the light blocks. Apart from that issue, there is no problem.
Will TNT dynamic lights lag my world?
No. Dynamic Lights for TNT are limited to a max of 48 simultaneously lit tnt.
Note that this datapack will only work properly on 1.17+

Everything else was made by me before knowing about that other datapack.

Have something to say?
this is a great data pack and it works really well. i'm pleased.
however...
i have a question
may i use this data pack in a adventure map i'm working on? i will give you all the credit you need/want
if not, i'll gladly remove it.
also, if you want, you can get a sneak-peek at my map when its ready for play-testing or something.

This data pack will cause very serious performance lag when running in the server. The game version I use is 1.20.4 and the paper server is used. The downloaded data pack version is the latest 1.8.7
The datapack you are having the issue with is Tschipcraft's Dynamic Lights
Please report the bug there
I've disabled lit TNT in the config for now, until you can find a fix (though it's not really required by us, it would be nice to have).
Thankyou, SFS
I was using Fiktel's Dynamic Lights Data pack, but the 1.21 changes really messed me my items up. I just got my sabers retracting and extending again.
