    Hello there!

This is just a personal opinion but I have always felt that the scale of foliage and life was weird, you would see these giant mountains and big oceans yet the trees were always pretty small, so I made a datapack to change that.

Overgrown Overworld does pretty much what it says on the title, I aim to make the game feel more "overgrown" without completely changing the entirety of Minecraft and loosing the vanilla feel.

In every biome, my goal was to change the scale drastically for the player with towering trees, giant foliage and heaps of life and interesting tidbits in biomes.

    So far I have modified:
      - Dark Oak Forest
      - Birch Forest
      - Spruce Forest
      - Savannah and Savanna Plateau
      - Forest
      - Sparse Jungle
      - Jungle

Datapack discontinued! This is the final version and will no longer be updated.
Check out Evergreen, the successor to this pack!

    Update #4 : by Catalyst__ 08/24/2022 7:47:40 pmAug 24th, 2022

This datapack is being halted or possibly stopped depending on what I decide to do with it, for those of you who are curious as to why, it is a combination of the less time I have due to school starting up again and also because I want to make it bigger.

When I mean bigger, I don't mean having even bigger trees, rocks etc. I mean I am going to create a datapack that changes more things that will succeed this one, for those of you who are worried, the code in this data pack will be transferred over to the next release assuming that it isn't just a tech demo.

I will be providing semi-regular updates on whatever I make in my discord: discord.gg/8rKWJfaz

It is a very nice data pack, I love it. However, the mega jungle tree seems to kill crashing my modded server by generating a mindblowing amount of console output. I don't know if you will continue to update this data pack, but I hope this can be tweaked a bit, thank you for your hard work.

Hi there, the jungle trees are known to do that because they are horribly optimized, sorry for that! This datapack will no longer be updated because I have decided to discontinue it, however check out my new datapack. It's going for a similar feel but hopefully this time it won't crash worlds :)

Nope and probably won't ever be since I've decided to discontinue this datapack. Sorry!

Check out my newer datapack though since I might make it compatible in the future!

I love this datapack but a really big problem is that the leaves don't fall after chopping the wood. this leaves a really uggly world behind, takes a lot of tie to remove the leaves if you want them to go and reduces future preformance. Please if possible add nbt tags or something to the leaves to tell them to decay like they do on naturally generated trees. I think it is very possible, please try and update me if you try! Love this pack that's why I leave this feedback.

Update. If you do "/fill xyz xyz2 n_leaves replace n_leaves" to the tree structures you built for the datapack the state of the leaves will be natural and not playerplaced and will be able to fall. Please fix it asap. ;(

It is not compatible for 1.19.4+ eather

Hi there, sorry for the leaves being annoying and the delayed response.

The leaves don't actually decay since a majority of the outer leaves (the ones quite a bit far from the trunk) actually decay on their own if I do make the leaves act as if they were naturally placed.
On first thought it didn't seem to bad but the entire world having constant leaf decay + sapling drops caused a lot of lag.

I haven't been active on datapacks lately either due to personal reasons so sorry if it won't be updated for a while.

I love the look of new forest, maybe it's what I've been searching for, but... Does every datapack needs to change underground generation? Is it required from minecraft files? I have mods, and this is altering my mods.
I would love to see datapack changing ONLY trees & forest foliage not changing terrain generation and also without this ugly & laggy giant trees. I would love to see this kind of datapack version.
