My stomach hurts and I literally can't tell if it's because I haven't had breakfast, I'm nervous about late assignments, or that I've been reading sad stuff.
    BlueBoyBuilds2026-09-17 14:47:50
As someone who deals with that often, it’s probably a mix of everything. 😭
9 times out of 10, eating a small snack, even if it’s just a few crackers or apple slices, helped me a lot, especially when I couldn’t stomach a full breakfast.

It's always so strange to come across someone who is completely unreadable. I think I've only met enough to count on my hand. I find them fascinating because no other time do I have to judge someone's motives on their actions alone.
Generally my initial reaction is that they hate me, because they give no reaction to anything I say or do. Then I try to force myself to love them, because I want to be liked and if I like them they'll hopefully like me. Then I realize that they've never really done anything to show that they hate me, just been so completely stone faced I don't know even in the slightest what they're thinking, and normally I think I'm pretty good at figuring that out. They're like, incredibly intriguing and also completely terrifying at the same time.
It gets to a point where my brain tries to make up emotions to read from them, which is an endless cycle of: "Are they happy? That's not it. Are they sad? That's not it. Are they angry? That's not it. It seems like nothing, but they can't possibly always be feeling nothing. They must be happy. No, that doesn't feel right..."
What's funny is I think my little brother is this way. He almost always looks slightly happy unless he's really upset about something. Even then, it doesn't show up on his face, but he has other cues that I've gotten used to just from living with him.
Makes me wonder if I'm this way to other people and I just don't know. Something I often get stuck on lol
    Zord2026-09-16 14:50:04
That's actually interesting... I don't think I ever really care for whatever people are expecting... which... yeah it can lead to me coming off as rude at times but hey, we're all different to some extent. XD
Though yeah I guess that if it's something you're used to getting acess to, not getting it as easily would mess with your brain... kind of like being left out of an inside joke I guess?
Anyhow thanks for sharing that! :D
    Escapazition2026-09-16 12:50:05
    Me: *Interacts with someone*
    The other person:
    BlueBoyBuilds2026-09-15 23:24:23
hahaha i just know i’d confuse you if we ever met face to face
    GalaxyCat242026-09-15 23:14:27
Now that I think about it, I don't know why knowing what the person I'm talking to is feeling is so important to me. I guess I'm just very used to it. Every interaction is feeling out what the other person is ok with and not ok with. Conversation topics, amount of physical touch, what they find funny, what they expect from me, all that. I gauge their reactions and change they way I act accordingly. If I can't do that, I feel lost. How do I know if I'm making them uncomfortable or happy? How do I know what they're interested in and what things they like talking about? How will I know when they're lying?
Part of it might just be me struggling to be genuine, but I also just really like people and want to know what they think, because I find people fascinating.
    Zord2026-09-15 21:56:17
Okay... as someone with a resting blank face... I need to know though... why do you feel like that? I've never once in my life felt the need to understand someone else's emotion or opinion of me... it's quite alien to my weird little brain. But in a curious way, not negative. Like yeah I get trying to read someone's expression to gauge potential outcomes of interacting with them... like min-maxing social encounters to get your desired outcome... but yeah...
Also as for your final wondering bit there... I doubt that's the case? Like you seem expressive... but who knows maybe like me your expressiveness comes from text and the people you're with... I''m way more easy to read among friends than with strangers.

Ok, nevermind, at least I'm not seeing things. There's a freaking camera in here and it is freaking moving. I knew it was there, but I thought the movement was my imagination or something. It looks like an eyeball and it keeps making whirring noises. Like what the heck. My dad has the creepiest toys. I bet he's super happy about this one and wants to talk my head off about how cute it is. It just scared the life out of me. Not cute. Not cute at all. (I'm in his office so I can't really complain, but STILL)

it's just sitting on the table across from me

What am I doing? I have a headache. I want to cry, but if I cry there's a guarantee it'll make the headache worse. I bit off way more than I can chew and I'm caught between trying to figure it out or dropping something. Many somethings. I don't really want to drop any of them, but my time management skills are about as advanced as a squirrel's. I'm not even sure if I'm exaggerating there. Low key sleep deprived and seeing movement that doesn't exist in my peripheral. Bit paranoid. Keep almost crying but seriously that will make everything way more painful. Make sleeping harder too.
Every other minute is "I can do this, I can figure this out, just make a plan, you'll get there, there will be mistakes, but you'll get there." and "everything is falling apart, what's going on, just roll with the punches until you can't get up because you have no strength and you know it."
I feel like I've died and come back to life 50 times in the last 5 minutes alone. Like heartbeat, please be steady, whether that be dead or healthy idc, just stop stopping like cars in heavy traffic it's driving me insane.
And then there's the silly little part of me that thinks: "ooooh, this would be a good internal struggle for a book character" and I almost slip into thinking about writing and forgetting everything. Which is like some sort of calming drug because it turns off all the stress. Ah, tysm dopamine.
That always happens. I get happy that I'm a mess and then confused because I'm experiencing two completely contradictory emotions at the same time. Then they cancel out and I feel nothing. Off, on, off, on. Happy, sad, happy, sad. Dead, alive, dead, alive. I love it, and I mean that genuinely, which makes no sense because I am in so much freaking pain right now. I'm riding a roller coaster of death and enjoying the adrenaline as much as the view.

not even gonna spell check this, have a nice day.
    GalaxyCat242026-09-15 11:25:37
Genuinely I would love to do it that way, just everyone keeps telling me it doesn't work and that I need a schedule. This sounds so much easier and refreshing though.
Ty for letting me know it works out for some people!
    AvatarKage2026-09-15 02:16:31
I think you can do all without dropping anything. And you don't even need time management, I sure don't got it. Just do what your mood calls for. I manage like half a hundred things (literally) and I just go with whatever my mood is that day. Not easy at first especially when sometimes many of these things collide and needs immediate attention, but you eventually get used to it. But I get that is not for everyone either and I might be an extremist example here so lol

Yesterday I yawned and my jaw made a loud noise and seemed to move out of place? So I like, opened my mouth and pushed it back. It made another loud noise but I think it moved back? Anyway it was sore for a couple minutes and I'm VERY self conscious about the placement of my jaw because I keep expecting it to be off center.

I feel good most of the time
    About life, about myself

And then every once in a while something comes out of nowhere and I'm crying for 30 minutes to an hour about something that's apparently been building up in the background and I have a headache for the rest of the day
...before going back to super happy and perfectly fine the next day like nothing happened even though nothing got resolved

And like, what happened? Where did all the upset go? Is it still inside of me somewhere and some subconscious mental defense is hiding it from me? What the heck?
Maybe, possibly, hopefully I found a healthy way of dealing with it and that's why it's gone? I just don't know?

It seems like something I should be worried about but there is a surprising lack of worry. Just mild confusion.

Started Jessica Jones with my mom and sister the other night
I really have never hated a villain so much
    Like, absolutely never
There are characters that I dislike, characters that I would even prefer to die, but this guy? Man, he makes me mad.

It took me a minute to figure out, but I think I may have stumbled upon the secret sauce for writing a villain the audience can hate as much as the characters. At least if the audience is me anyway.

    ...

I tried writing out my thoughts on it but it felt like a repeat of stuff I've already posted, so I deleted it. Big thing is that indifference makes villains scary. I'm a little tired if you can't tell lol

    GlitchPro2026-09-10 15:11:29
there's so many different ways you indicate tone in texting these days, and the littlest things make such a difference. emotions vs emojis, periods vs not, everything lowercase vs proper capitalization vs all caps obviously, proper grammar vs everything in a run on sentence, sending a ton of short texts vs one long one, using abbreviations vs the entire word, and the list could go on.
also, your texting norms play a big part. like you could always use abbreviations and then suddenly take the time to type out entire words, or if you never use periods and then you do, or if you use capitalization rather than all lowercase. deviating from personal norms can show that you're being more serious or your mood shifted. and if you text someone a lot it helps to know their tells in texting
    GalaxyCat242026-09-10 14:54:18
Probably where it started, but it has tone significance now too

Some days I just want everyone and everything to stop.
I want to have one goal, and no expectations besides my own.
In the past I've wanted to run away and live alone with animals. On a cliff, forest, or island.
A forgotten city, where the only dangers would be buildings caving in, floods, infections, and wild creatures.
I've wished for the apocalypse, where drama is in the physical world and physical death is the biggest fear.

Not this painful, tempting, dull, quiet, constant dying.

It's like something's eating at my brain. It's like I'm drugged into hyper mode, and confined to a chair. It's like noise is that drip, drip, dripping on my head that drives me insane. It's like I'm trying to drown but keep finding the stupid strength to keep treading water.

Words repeat in my head over and over again. I think I've said for no reason "blood" a thousand times. Sentences turn into single words, and the ability to describe what I'm feeling is like my peripheral vision; movement, monochrome, and misconception.

I want to ask "WHAT'S GOING ON?! WHAT'S HAPPENING TO ME?!" But that's silly, because I know exactly what it is. I just can't find the will to stop it. I have everything to hold onto but my hands are moving in slow motion. I'm overheating. I'm crying. I'm asking if it's really worth it.

Lack of sleep. Doomscrolling. Avoiding silence. Ignoring hunger. Ignoring thirst. Skipping chores. Hiding from the people I love. Covering up my fears, but not facing them.

    What's the diagnosis?
I don't know, but whatever it is, it's way too common.
    GlitchPro2026-09-07 22:51:21
exactly. i understand so much. i've also thought about how running away would be nice. except there's no where to run to these days.
    also
please take care of yourself though.
even in a monochrome world without color, there is value.

    You know what's awesome?
When a group of characters needs someone to be bait for their plan.
So obviously the already injured character volunteers and everyone is like "NO, ABSOLUTELY NOT!"
But the hurt character brings up good arguments like, "if somebody else goes, you'll have one less person for the ambush, since I can't help anyway. Plus, I trust you guys to protect me, and it'll be worth the risk if we pull it off." And technically said character is the least important to the mission so they're right, but everyone else hates the idea because the character is important to them.

But you know what's also awesome?
A group of characters needs someone to be bait for their plan, and the obvious choice does NOT like the plan. The other characters love them, but they have to drag them kicking and screaming into their role because the stakes are THAT high.

With either one you then have something go absolutely wrong, showing that even the right choices have high consequences. Maybe the bait ends up dying. Maybe in scenario a, they don't listen to their friend and aren't able to pull off the ambush without one extra guy. So! Many! Possibilities!
It works in a lot of genres too.

I just finished reading a book written by a friend's friend.
If I'm being completely honest, it wasn't all that good compared to what I'm used to reading.
But the guy who wrote it had this little bit at the end and beginning talking about how it was written. Just like the great works, it had plenty of "thank you's" and "I couldn't have done it without you's."
    It made me think.
If I had written something like this, I probably wouldn't have considered it good enough to publish. Which sounds harsh, and I feel kinda bad for saying it. I would have compared it to books like the Hunger Games or stuff by Brandon Sanderson. I would have been irritated that it didn't have one major point, and dissected the structure down to the paragraphs.
But that's in large part because I'm a different person. I like to make things a specific way. Often I struggle enjoying something (I consider) subpar to that. I can't be satisfied with something that could've been better.
But I'm pretty sure this guy was really proud of his book. I'm pretty sure he loved writing it. I'm pretty sure there was a lot of thought in the parts I didn't think much of, and this was probably a long-term project for him. It brought him joy, and it'll probably bring other people joy too.
So why do I think it's low quality if it's fulfilling it's purpose?
I'm just so used to amazing works of art that absolutely blow you away. To the patterns and the deepness of beauty thought out to perfection.
And sometimes I forget that so much of the beauty in life sits in the creation of it. The process of making a story is a story in of itself. That's beautiful too.
And there's also a beauty in not being perfect. Of starting out mediocre, but starting anyway. Why look down on that? It's huge!

I'm slightly disappointed with myself for thinking down of this guys book. Partially because he's a friend of a friend and there's a possibility I'll meet him. What would I say about his book? I don't think I learned a whole lot from it, but there were definitely some concepts I enjoyed. I don't want to lie and tell him it was amazing though. I certainly don't want to give him all my criticism unless he 100% wants it, because there's a lot. I have to keep in mind that some of it is just my opinion too.
I don't know. Gave me a lot to think about today.
    AvatarKage2026-09-04 14:59:59
Not everything needs to be high quality to be enjoyed by others (look at Skibidi). I know when I started writing my work sucked. At the time tho, I genuinely thought this was the best thing ever. If you're having fun, if you enjoy doing it, and if that makes you happy, then that's all that really matters.....unless you plan on going to a publisher, then a lot matters and they will crush you to dust-....anyways. First rule to anything, never compare yourself, because unless you are a professional, you will see your work as trash every single time. It took me so many years to actually look at something and be like, yeah, my work is more entertaining (not better, because you can't truly compare art for so many different reasons) than this.

If you want to offer constructive criticism, go for it, but its important to know what he is aiming for too. Like if he's just doing for fun and doesn't care of the outcome, let it go. If he's trying to learn or seek a career in this later on, definitely don't beat around the bush and put all on the table. The more he has to work with sooner, the faster he will become better at writing. If you got thoughts that may be too long to say in person, write them down as well and hand it to him. Maybe sticky post them thought-out the pages. Anyways, welcome to the world of beta reading lol

so when i first joined this website in 2024 it seemed like a very safe website and everything was nice and child friendly as it should be

and at some point after many of the 2023-2024 PMCers like left or rebranded and the new generation came and now most of it is a bunch of quite freaky everything so to say like i cant open the wallpost area without running into some kind of not so good themed wallpost and i dont know if its just cause when i first joined i did not have many subscribers so i did not see that many things or if it has just got that bad in recent age especially towards a certain PMCer cOUGh CouGH zomphey-COUGH

but yea at the end of it all i want to remind everyone that while this is a site for all ages 13 and up ( if i remember correctly ) that still does not mean one should be behaving this way so yea lets try to clean this place up ay? :D

So I've been wanting to write a very specific story, but had no idea how to start it. It was a bit of an issue until I realized that I don't technically have to start writing the beginning. I could write the part that I have most vivid in my head. Then everything else will start falling into place. That's how I always write little short stories normally, and if I publish it I'll probably rewrite most of it anyway. And! That way when I write the beginning I'll already know the characters and world really well!

So I started close to the end. Right with the emotional turmoil. It was awesome.

Oh I actually have the whole plot written out already. Like pacing and events and how relationships develop over time. There are some pretty big weak points in places, but I know most of what I'm going for.
