Something my family experienced and says to me is that "you teach people how to interact with you". If people are driven away by wrong assumptions and filtered perspectives, you can be the one to make it right. It doesn't make sense to assume hidden motives about people who surrender their motives in favor of knowing yours. It won't work for everyone, but that's a way to assure invitations to friendship.

- Its still the platform that has like this instant feed of real events. You see it there first (or second after tiktok), the yt / tv reports are then coming days later. Pro instant updates. Contra: The never ending stress of 1 million things happening. Contra: still giant waves of slop, ragebait, and hatespeech the second you touch anything outside the creative or mc bubble.
- If you need to reach people as a creator, its sadly still one of the largest viable plattforms, but at the merci of the algorythm + half is bots, clickbaiters, vagueposters, shitposters, ragebaiters, and grifters.
- Bluesky is the alternative but is not nearly as big, and has this anoying mercian imprint, as barely anyone else from eu or asia or down under uses it.Plus it lacks a good recomendation algorythm to find good new accounts

not losing much i think. i think its better for browsing for art than instagram for me because the algorithm isnt as easily swayed by reading a single meme ive seen a million times lol. im only using it for the artists i follow

I never created a twitter account, I don't really see the point...
I mean the format is just weird, just shouting to a wall. I prefer the forum format, but if you like twitter-likes you could just use mastodon anyway(or bluesky but on the protocol side mastodon is better).

Maybe there’s a way you can learn the user’s intentions behind it. If you can, that could help you decide how to feel in response.
