thinking about what happens when/after you die is really quite stressful to me bcuz it’s literally not possible to come to a correct conclusion, and seeing as how I am to believe that there is literally nothing after you die, how can one just go from being a real thinking self-aware entity to just like, not?

as a skeptic I just can’t help myself from pondering over unanswerable questions and it gets annoying lul

regarding many images on pmc being unavailable
tldr discord is deleting images after a while to free up storage space

what’s happening?
many images around PMC (wall posts, descriptions, profile pages) which are hosted on Discord are refusing to load, visiting the image URL returns an error.

what is causing it?
Discord doesn’t like it when you host images with them, so they’re creating a new system where images sent on Discord will be removed after a long period of time from Discord’s servers - there’s nothing we can do about it. it’s really inconvenient but PMC can do nothing about it, as it’s Discord who are hosting the image, and PMC is just displaying it from the image URL.

alternatives for image hosting
- if you’re up for a challenge, you could host your images through GitHub
- imgur is easy-to-use and doesn’t need logging in
- imgbb also exists
- Tixte is my favourite - you can upload images/videos/more and host them with a custom subdomain, with 15gb of storage space

its annoiyng, but PMC can’t do anything about it, and Discord ain’t gonna budge either.

can we take a moment to appreciate how absolutely disgusting the word “infrared” is. seriously, just say it out loud. inf RAR red. inf RAR red. would someone care to explain the existence of the first R? if the word was “infared” with only one r then i would consider it to be a valid word in our language. but NOOOOO, those stupid people just decided “hey, let’s make this word UNNECESSARILY DIFFICULT TO PRONOUNCE.” seriously, why the rar. it sounds like a dog growling, yet “inf*grrrrrrrarh*red “ STILL sounds like a BETTER WORD than whatever the hell “infrared” is. sometimes I literally have to wonder how the creator of the word infrared HAS A DRIVING LICENCE because it is EVIDENT that they were DRUNK when they made this word. should the word be pronounced “infared” then PERHAPS it might have a GLIMMER of hope in it. BUT NO. i am actually SO MAD right now having had to pronounce this word. CALLING it a WORD is an INSULT TO THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE. a word this horrible DOES NOT DESERVE to be in the DICTIONARY. it is literally offensive to MICROSOFT EXCEL, and that’s a SPREADSHEET PROGRAM. i am genuinely CONCERNED for our future - forget about controversy, poverty, world hunger, mental health, and all of that - ITS ALL IRRELEVANT so long as we are being PLAGUED by the GREATER EVIL of INFRARED. there is literally NOTHING IN EXISTENCE that could or will ever cause me GREATER PAIN than that CONGLOMERATION OF CHARACTERS. do you know why SHAKESPEARE never used the w*rd in his plays? because he had a REASONABLE BRAIN which could UNDERSTAND how SICKLY and HORRIBLE that word is. ULTRAVIOLET made SENSE because it was ACTUALLY A WORD. THIS IS NOT a WORD. in fact, claiming it’s EVEN MADE OF SYLLABLES is an INSULT to the INTERNATIONAL PHONETIC ALPHABET. and i gotta say that THE ENGLISH/LATIN ALHPABET must be WEEPING into its PILLOWS at night, CRYING in SORROW about how it has been USED to create this MONSTER OF A W*RD. and DONT GET ME STARTED on the ATOMS which have to UNWILLINGLY VIBRATE WITH SADNESS as the w*rd travels through the POOR, INNOCENT ATMOSPHERE.
