There is a bee and it is in my room. Buzzing, around my head. I believe it is taunting me. If it had a problem with me, it would have stung me an hour ago. But it has not. This bee, this monster. It enjoys it.

I was simply enjoying my morning, listening to the birds chirp as the sun rose. I opened my window, the one with no screen, to let in the crisp fall morning air. My door was closed so that my cats (both of which are indoor cats) could not get out. There is nowhere to run.

You may think this miniscule, a tiny problem I'm making far too big a deal out of. But I am fearful. All my life I have never been stung by bee, wasp or any variety of the foul creatures.

I go to the window and close it slowly. The bee follows me there, buzzing it's whining drone all the while. I ignore it and go to the door, close it. It follows me. I sit back down on the old armchair in front of my computer on which I am typing this final account. I am followed.

This is when it hits me. The bee hates me. It knows what I did to that wasp during way-to-early-10-o'-clock lunch period that wanted my peanut butter jelly. It saw it. The bee meant to sting me, to avenge its bee brethren. But of course, doing so right away is no fun. No. Bees do love to taunt their victims beforehand. That is what it was doing.

I walk to my tall, white dresser by the door and grab the bright orange flyswatter that sits upon it. I set it down for a moment to close the door. When I look back, the bee sits on the metal handle of the flyswatter. It's sadistic eyes looking back at mine. I swear I saw that beast grin.

It is just me and the bee.

I reach toward the swatter. It flies off swiftly, insisting that I take it. I hold the cold metal handle firmly, as I type this last will and testament. I may not live to see another beautiful fall morning.

I must fight. For if I do not, the bee's tyranny over this small New England town will not end.

If I do not win, it is the end. Farewell.

Good news! After 4 days I have plugged in my PC again. Aaaaand... it works just fine! (And doesn't even smell like a Latte)
