Hey! I'm new to the whole datapack scene, but I've learnt the basics. I have an issue that you may be able to help me with...
Do you know the ID I need to use to output a poisoned arrow? (tipped arrow with the poison effect) I can add a tipped arrow with a blank effectbut I do't know how to specify the potion

unfortunately, custom crafting can't use nbt data, so that means no potion effects or enchants. sorry!

This is not a Forge mod. When you download it, put it zipped (don't unpack) into the "Datapack" folder of the world you want to use it in. Say you create a world called AVALON, then save and exit, now go to #appdata# - .minecraft - saves - AVALON - "datapacks" and put the downloaded file in there. Next time you load the AVALON world, it will work with that mod. For any other world to use it, you need to copy the file in their datapacks folder as well, else it would work for that AVALON world only.

I don't know what this "AVALON" thing you're talking about is. this is just a normal datapack

That's just a random name of a Minecraft world I created recently. Use whatever name you want for your worlds. I gave you an example, if you create a world in Minecraft and call it "AVALON," then the mod would go into this structure: ".minecraft - saves - AVALON (the name of the world) - datapacks".
If you name the world "XYP 356", then the structure would be: ".minecraft - saves - XYP 356 - datapacks". Got it? AVALON was just an example of a created world to explain how to install this mod here. You can't play it, like you've been used in Forge, where you first install all mods, after that you can create a world and continue to play with all the mods active. This is different, here you have to create a world first, then save and quit Minecraft and ONLY THEN you can install the mod (mods) into the world you want to play in. And if you install it into only one world, other worlds would be unaffected, you would play them without mods. So you have to copy this downloaded file into any created world in MC, that you want play, for them to work correctly. I know it can be confusing, but I hope, it was clear to understand this time.

Edit: I didn't realized, that you're not the original poster (of the question, not the mod), I tried to explain it in details to him, because he was familiar with Forge mods, but didn't seem to be familiar with datapacks. Telling him "hey, it's just a datapack" might be helpful like pointing someone new in town to the nearest hospital by saying "go the general direction and you'll find it", which isn't very helpful at all.

I thought that AVALON was some sort of format or term for a different type of datapack. that's why I said that it was just a normal datapack

I think I will be making a video about it. also, you can go into the files and see the items that can be crafted, though it doesn't tell you how to craft them.
