Welcome to a new little mod!

This mod, as you might guess from the title, will add new houses, buildings and proffesions to vanilla villagers and villages.

I just started this mod so there are not many yet, but currently the mod adds:

  • A Windmill
    • With a Miller Villager
    • Sells and buys: seeds, wheat, bread.

  • A FishHut
    • With a Fisher Villager
    • Sells and buys: Fish, feathers and fishing rods.

  • A Bakery
    • With a Baker Villager
    • Sells and buys: Bread and wheat

  • A Mine
    • With a Miner
    • Sells Ores, gems and tools

  • A Lab
    • With an evil Scientist
    • Sells brewing stands, books and blaze powder


Extended villages also features a new custom made Render for the villager model. It adds a hat to the villager model. The only problem with this is that the vanilla texturemap of the villagers is filled with unused pixels, therefor I had to override some of those. This means that it would not get the villager textures from vanilla minecraft but from my mod. So, texturepacks wont override the villager texture if the custom render is enabled therfor I have added a config option to enable/disable the custom render for the villagers. Simply turn this of if you wish to use a texturepack for the villagers.

There will be more structures and villagers and feel free to leave suggestions in the comments below.

Extended Villages Add-ons:
Since Version 1.7.10-2.3, there can be made and installed add-ons for Extended Villages. These add-ons can use blocks and items from other mods and for example make structures with the blocks, or villagers that trade those items. I will post all my add-ons here: Extended Villages Add-ons


Installation
1. Install Forge 1180 by running their installer
2. Drop the extvil-1.7.10-X.X.jar in the "mods" folder, which can be found in the .minecraft folder
3. Find a village to explore!

This mod is now Open Source, this means that you can look at the code over at GitHub. You are not allowed to compile and distribute modified versions of Extended Villages, but you can look at how custom village generation is done!

Well, who had expected that? An Extended Villages update!

I got a request for a config to enable/disable buildings, and the lab was to unbalanced with iron blocks, so here you go:

- Config option to disable the buildings and matching villagers
- Block changes for the lab

This weekend was bug fix weekend! I fixed all the bugs that were reported for my mods!
For Extended Villages this includes the weird turned doors, the error with turning the custom render off, the hats texture beeing one pixel off and the fishing hut water running out.  Please report more bugs as you discover them, can be done here, or by email:[email protected] or over at www.larsmods.com!

We are in the holiday weeks! So that means that we need a Christmas special! Well here it is! In the period from 23th to 27th of december, all villages that are created will have ice buildings and all villages will wear santa hats(If custom render is turned on, it is by default!).

This version is required if you want to use the JurassiCraft add-on. In this Extended Village version I have made a custom chest loot system so I can control what spawns in chests. In the next updates, more of the village buildings will get chests.

Time for version 2.2!

Hope you enjoyed the Halloween villagers, they wil automaticly turn normal on the 2. November. But dont worry, 28th october 2015 they will grow pumpkins again!

In this version, Ive added a new structure with a new villager!
The new building is a lab with an evil Scientist. The Scientist sells brewing stands, books and blaze powder!

Enjoy!

Oh, and the lab has an automatic lighting system, but dont steal it, the scientist might get sad!

Usually I tend to write detailed update logs with information on everything in the new update. But this time I wont, because todays update is a Halloween special! So I wont tell you whats new, but it affect both villagers and structures!

In addition, Ive fixed some of the unbalanced tradings!

No new structures this time, but I changed the textures and added....:

A CUSTOM VILLAGER RENDER!

This means that the miner now wears a mining helmet, and the baker a white bakers hat. This does however bring a few minor problems but they are easy to solve:
The problem with this is that the vanilla texturemap of the villagers is filled with unused pixels, therefor I had to override some of those. But this is only if you really want to have the vanilla villagers to look like the texturepack villagers, otherwise you wont have to deal with this! So enjoy the new looks and keep the suggestions coming!

Today's update adds a new structure and a new villager type!

The structure is the entrance to a mineshaft, with a drill in it! It also has a desert version where it is made out of sandstone instead of logs. 

Together with the shaft, there will spawn a miner villager!
The villagers trades ores, gems and tools. It has Villager ID 13 by default, but you can of course change this in the configuration file.

A rather big update today! :D

First of all, I have fixed most of the bugs that have been reported! Thanks for the help on finding them, and please keep sending bug reports!

Now to todays update:

  1. Added a new building: "Bakery"
  2. Added a new Villager: "Baker"
  3. Added a config File for Villager IDs
  4. Added an in-game Config GUI. Accesable via the mods button on the main menu
  5. Added support for desert villages, with sandstone! So no more ugly desert villages!

Welcome to Extended Villages 1.7.10-1.1

This update isnt very big, but solves a few bugs and has optimized code(it was a bit of a mess because I had never done any worldgen before)

Fishermen villagers no longer sell feathers, instead they sell ink sacks!


The mod also is open source, so you can view the code over at github, and if you want, you can also repport issues there to help me getting rid of all the bugs!

Don't work
You piece of s**t. I got the download but with the price of having to force shutdown my computer. It put me in fullscreen mode with a fake microsoft site saying microsoft has blocked my computer and it gives me a horrible sound constantly going. Change the damn download link, PLEASE!

First of all, calm down! Its not like I owe you something, I make this mod for fun, and share it for free. The fact that you aren't capable of operating a computer in a correct way, doesnt make me a piece of shit. If you click the "Download" button, you will be taken to my website. Here you can pick the mod version you would like to download, and get the file after watching a 5 second adfly ad. No harm in this. The download itself is through dropbox, which is super safe as well. So I suggest that you try one more time, or just play without my mods, up to you!
Would it be okay to use this in a modpack? Also could you put it on curse as well? We are doing our modpack through curse and it would be a lot easier for us to include this mod if it was on curse.

Is there anyway to disable some of the buildings from spawning or change the science lab from all iron blocks to some other material and get rid of the redstone stuff on the roof? I am just worried about these blocks being harvested.

Made some changes. Now you can disable buildings, and the lab is now made from bricks :) Ill release it asap
I dont remeber if there is a config. Ill see if I still have the code somewhere

I can't download this everytime i try to an ad pops up i wait then I skip it but then it takes me to a page to download something else when then pops up a window I can't close about the download being a virus (something called evi.dropbox)

Edit: I still can't get it from here but i download it from Minecaft-Forum net
When you click skip ad, it will directly download the jar file from dropbox. There is no danger. Could be that you scanner dislikes .jar filea but my mod is perfectly safe if you download from larsmods.com

I'v found a little bug in this mod.
When I go into to the scientists lab
into the bedroom I saw a bed,

And when I remove that bed I got
2 beds instead of 1

This bug does not always show up.

I get this crash sometimes. I believe the paleontology lab has trouble with large hills.

I think you should really change the building material for the laboratory, or have the option to turn it off. You shouldn't be able to get so much iron so easily.
Would wool be ok?
What about quartz blocks? They go with the lab theme, at least more so than wool.

Yes, as long as you can't get a redicoulous amount of resources from it. You could also add your own futuristic looking block since wool doesn't really look like it belongs in a lab.

You really should include a license in GitHub. The very definition of open source is that you share the code and let others use it, and that is what all open source licenses say in one form or another, so it is confusing when you say it is open source, but you can't complie it. 

I think you mean the source is available, but not open for use. If you truly mean open source, I'd like to use it in my mod, Draco Animus. Not all of it, just the Bakery. We'd like to have one of those. We already have a few other buildings, so I know how to add a Bakery, but using yours would save us lots of time. I would want to change the roof though, as I want to use only standard pieces found in villages, and the roof is a custom block type.

Well it is open source.
Open source is meaning that you can use someones code or product, without asking money for it. This means that if you don't make money out it, it is fine.
That is how I know it atleast

But the forge version I'm using is already 1232. Is it not compatible with forge above 1180? The mod works fine in single player though

maybe the mod isnt compatible with SMP
Also it seems that some of the textures for a few of the villagers are a bit mixed up. For instance the Mad Doctor model seems to be used for the miner and the Miller has become the Fisherman.
So after much trial and error I have discovered that the Villager Regestry Id error is conflicting with the Fossil and Archeology mod for some reason. I have no idea why considering that the mod doesn't really add Villagers to speak of.

Edit: Okay I was wrong! They do add a villager, but for some reason it's conflicting with villager ID number 125 and none of your villagers have that ID unless I'm wrong.
Can you update the 1.7.2 to match the 1.7.10 version so that way I can use it in my modded survival

Looks epic! I love the mod mostly because it adds more builds to villages then in vallnila minecraft and great details too! The only thing that was a little bit of a problem was how clostrophobic the bakery was for me, but apart from that it was AMAZING! Keep up the good work!   ♥♥♥♥♥
Can you make this for 1.6.4 so that way I can add this to my modded survival series, I was doing the modded survival series on 1.7.10 most of the mods that I wanted to run was in 1,6,4 so I am ending that one which only has two episodes

You need the server version. You got the client version i think.
Im not really sure about this one. Could be a conflict with some of the other mods. Try changing the villager IDs

Not a fan of the full iron block building, maybe make it more stone brick but keep iron lining the corners?

really liking the way this mod is going. keep up the good work. couple add-ons that might be cool but idk if they are do-able would be growthcraft and twilight forest. i know tinkers already has a villager but maybe an add-on for one that is actually useful :P
