This datapack places graves when a player dies. There are four kind of graves:
  • The Regular: appears when you die in the Overworld
  • The Infernal: appears when you die in the Nether
  • The End: appears when you die in the End
  • The Bubble: appears when you die on the water.

Due to how famous the water elevators are on Minecraft 1.13, the Bubble can be disabled by running the command:/function grave:disable_water_grave
And enabled by running the command:/function grave:enable_water_grave
When you die the Graveyard Keeper will place a white tulip and a sign with your name and tell the coordinates where you died.

If you don't want graves to appear at places like your house you can place a Marker. A Marker can be created by placing an armor stand and dropping a white tulip on it. When you do this the armor stand will disappear and some white particles will appear instead. Markers can be removed by dropping a red tulip on the particles. You also can get a Marker by running the command:/function grave:give_marker
The graves won't appear if:
  • You are fighting the Ender Dragon,
  • You are fighting a Wither,
  • You are on a Ocean Monument or near a Guardian or an Elder Guardian,
  • Or if you died on lava.
As a code of honor: don't destroy the graves to take the resources.

  • The Bubble now only appears if it has enough space (5x5x5) of water, kelp or seagrass.
  • Graves won't appear if they have to replace bedrock.

I really like this graves datapack. To help you make it even better, I offer a couple of suggestions...
1. The "main" body of code I would try to slice out to run only if deaths_grave=1, this way just one line of code runs every tick, and not the entire script every tick. If just this datapack is running, no biggie, but if servers are running tons of packs, all that extra unnecessary code every tick starts to add up.
2. I would add bedrock to your checks. One could easily bust through bedrock with your graves. Jes sayin'

But great execution of a neat idea! I gave you a diamond, and favorite!

Nice! I personally was thinking of using a model when I wanted to make a similar pack, but this is a pretty cool non-resourcepack dependent way to do it!
