To celebrate getting to 300 subscribers, i have worked very hard to bring you this project. And it took a little longer than i was expecting. It continues my series of Olympic submissions. I hope you enjoy it

The structure above ground is heavily influenced by Zaha Hadid's Aquatics Centre in London for the 2012 Summer Olympics. The London Aquatics Centre is designed basically as two separate structures, one being the stands, and the other being the roof. The roof had to span the entire 525ft, or 160m over the two pools, and had a downward curving lateral contour, and an upward curve for the overall shape of the roof. The ceiling creates an almost undulating appearance as it dips down above the pools. The stands, with only 2500 being permanent, were meant to be removed after the games, and the permanent stands would only be used during any competitions afterwards. The effort was to repurpose the facility for the public to use and enjoy.

My interpretation takes the wave idea of Hadid's roof, and elaborates on it. To mark the pools, the roof is lowered, lights are in place, and it has a gentle wave shape that arcs up roughly over the centers of each pool, and arcs down at the center creating the distinct shape Zaha Hadid achieved in London. Then over the deck of the pools and the lower tier stands, the roof just has a gentle arc up, peaking at the center, and has a truss structure inlaid with glass. The last part of the roof is the bow outward over the beginning of the second tier of seating, which acts as a structural connection with the Olympic Stadium. As was with Hadid's design, I made the stands loosely resemble the removable stands used in London, as the future of this project was for the stands to be removed, and glazing put in place once the games had ended. All three roofs are joined by glazing between the gaps to allow daylight in.

If you noticed, i said it resembles Hadid's Aquatic Centre above ground. Below ground, however, is what i am calling the Bunker. The Bunker is the water polo arena, and is situated below ground underneath the diving and swimming pools. The pool itself is 60 m below ground, and the ceiling of the stadium reaches just below the diving pool. Due to it being under ground, and supporting the pools above it, i wanted to express the structure more in the stands and on the ceiling, and it became expressed in the near pyramidal shape that the Bunker took. The pool is to the proper scale, as are the goals. There are three levels to the facility: pool level, first floor, and second floor of the Bunker, but only one tier of seating. There are four stair cores that reach up to the ground level of the Aquatics Center.

There is no redstone in this build, just glowstone, as the structure was complicated enough without redstone being involved as well.
