Presenting the Latest Release from the Redstone Farm Series!

Fully Automatic Wool Farm and Storage System

The latest release from the Redstone Farm series is the Royal Woolery, a complete Wool Farm and Sorted Storage System! The model is really two systems connected as one.

First, the storage system uses a standard sorting filter connected to seven levels of double-wide chests! One unit for every color of wool and one for every color of carpet. It, also, includes a seven level overflow storage unit and an overflow incinerator, in case the overflow storage is full.

All this is connected to the same core wool farm module from Turtle Bay. We decided to try out a new building providing all the same features. The result is this beast! It resembles the style we used on the Warehouse model. We are considering replacing the existing wool farm in Turtle Bay with this unit.

This model features a "single switch" control system to enable or disable the shearing of sheep! No shearing, no wool production. In-game operation of the machine is very simple. There is a switch on a dispenser in the center of the the southeast corner of the front of the machine. This switch controls the shearing of sheep. Flip it in the up position to produce wool, down to disable. That's it!

How to install the Royal Wool Farm
Download and Contents:
Download and extract all the files from the .zip file. You should see a ReadMe.txt file and three subfolders: LitematicaSinglePlayerFix, schematics, and structure. For installation into your own world, the schematics folder contains the schematic file, and the structures folder contains the .nbt files needed for the structure blocks.

You install this model using the schematic file as shown below. Keep in mind, the schematic file method does not copy entities (e.g. sheep). The structure block can be used to do this for you.

The structure block in the LitematicaSinglePlayerFix folder should only be used if you use Litematica and want to install this model on a single player client. Use the separate instructions for that method. I create these models on a server, there is a quirk in Litematica that does not copy contents and Inventory items (e.g. chests, hoppers, etc.). This deprograms the sorting filters and breaks the system aspect of the model. Therefore we provide a structure block to fix this. If you use this structure block to install the model, do not use the schematic file method.

Schematic File Installation:
Keep in mind, the schematic file method does not copy entities, so to get all the sheep, copy the .nbt files, also.

In the schematics folder, there is only one .schem file:

farm_wool_storage_33ewx27nsx23h_nwcrnr.schem, entire building and farm (without sheep).

The schematic files can be installed several different ways. Please refer to the instructions from your favorite app or plugin for specific instructions, but, generally, copy the schematic files to the appropriate plugin folder. This version was created using WorldEdit, so that is what is described here.

First locate and open your server's world save directory. Next, open your plugin folder (<server_root)\<yourworld>\plugins\WorldEdit\schematics\ and copy all of the ".schem' files to this folder.

Structure Block File Installation:

in the structures folder are two .nbt files:

farm_wool_core_5ewx19nsx7h_nwcrnr.nbt; Core sheep farm module,
farm_wool_sheeppen.nbt; Sheep breeding and loading pen containing one of each color sheep for a total of 16 sheep,

in the LitematicaSinglePlayerFix folder is one .nbt file:

farm_wool_storage_33ewx27nsx23h_nwcrnr.nbt, Entire building and wool farm.

Single Player Client:
Open the Windows File Explorer and type the following into the address bar: %APPDATA%\.minecraft\saves and press enter. Next, open the desired world save folder. Then open the \generated\minecraft\structures\ folder. Copy ALL the .nbt files to here. If you are using Litematica, copy the farm_wool_storage_33ewx27nsx23h_nwcrnr.nbt to here.

Multiplayer Server:
Locate and open the world save directory where you want to install the model. Next, open the desired world save folder. Then open the \generated\minecraft\structures\ folder and copy ALL the .nbt files to here.

When you are done, check that the .nbt files have been copied to correct folder.

In-Game model Installation (WorldEdit):
Once the .schem file has been installed,
1) log into the game and ensure you have permissions to use WorldEdit.
2) stand in the center of the Northwest corner of area you want the model installed, the model requires a minimum foot print of 24 blocks east-west and 8 blocks north-south.
3) type //schem load farm_wool_storage_33ewx27nsx23h_nwcrnr,
4) type //paste to complete the installation. Optionally you can rotate the model using Worldedit //rotate command prior to //paste.

Sheep Loading (Structure Block):
If you want to capture and breed you own sheep, skip to step 7) below.

1) Go to the sheep breeding pen in the rear of the building,
2) locate the structure block in the breeding pen. It's in the corner opposite the sheep loading area against the main building,
3) right click the structure block and make sure the button in the lower left is set to 'Load', next;

  f. If you rotated the schematic before pasting above, then rotate here accordingly. make sure the outline coincides with the sheep pen.
  g. Click 'LOAD' on the lower right corner,
  h. select Done,
7) After all this, you can either leave the structure block in place or delete it and replace with another solid block.

Litematica Single Player Client installation:

Once the all the .nbt files from the LitematicaSinglePlayerFix and the structures folders have been copied to the right place (see above),
1) log into the game in CREATIVE mode and ensure you have permissions to place structure blocks (op perms),
2) stand in the center of the Northwest corner of area you want the model installed, the model requires a minimum foot print of 33 blocks east-west and 27 blocks north-south, and 23 blocks high,
3) type /give <PlayerName> stucture_block,
4) replace the block directly under your feet with the structure block,
5) right-click the structure block,
6) set the structure name to farm_wool_storage_33ewx27nsx23h_nwcrnr,
7) set the Relative Position boxes to the following: '0 0 0',
8) Ensure the button on the lower left corner is set to 'LOAD' mode,
9) Ensure that 'Include Entities' is set to 'ON',
10) click done,
11) right-click the structure block,
12) Click the 'LOAD'
13) click done,
14) You should see an outline of the model, ensure the placement and rotation is correct,
15) repeat steps 11 through 13 above to load the building with all the filters populated correctly,
16) If you want to load the sheep into the model, follow the instructions 'Sheep Loading (Structure Block)' section above...

As a Bonus, we have included the core wool farm unit as a structure block. To install it, Place a structure block on the ground and follow the steps in the LitematicaSinglePlayerFix installation, except set the structure name to 'farm_wool_sheeppen' in step 6.
