Presenting the First Release from the new Redstone Farm Series!
Fully Automatic Kelp Farm
The first release in the Redstone Farm series is a simple, but effective and fully automatic Kelp farm. This model features "single switch" control that enables or disables all levels. It also features a collection stream cut-off switch. You can let the kelp grow at it's normal rate and only enable collection when you desire!
This machine was designed and built for use in Turtle Bay underground. Therefore, we weren't concerned about visible redstone. In the future, we may provide a suitable building for above ground use.
There are three versions of the farm: one is a eight level machine, next is a four level machine, and the third is a single level unit. The download package contains the schematic files (.schem) featuring all three versions of the Kelp Farm.
In-game operation of the machine is very simple. There is a switch on a redstone lamp in the center of the the south face (front) of the machine. This switch controls the collection of kelp. There is another switch on the right side (west) side of the model. This one controls production for every level. You can disable system output using either switch. As an additional feature, users can add a switch on the redstone lamp in the center of the north (rear) of the machine on each level. This will give you the ability to control each level's production individually.
Future updates may include a redesigned power ladder for the automation, an integration example application, and a sample enclosure for above ground use.
Installation
Download and extract all the files from the .zip file. You should see two subfolders: "FarmKelp", and "schematics".The FarmKelp folder contains the world map and the other folder contains the schematic files for installation into your own world.
World Map Installation:
Copy the "FarmKelp" folder to the world save folder for either your server or single player client. If you wish to install it on a single player client: type "%appdata%\.minecraft\saves\" into the address bar on your windows file browser and press enter. Next copy the "FarmKelp" folder here...
