To this day, this chicken coop I uploaded a few years back remains one of my most popular builds here on PlanetMinecraft. And I can understand why – I keep coming back to it myself. Yet, precisely because I actually use it relatively often, I've found quite a few design flaws over time. Mostly, it is simply too small for more than a handful of chickens. Then, there is the matter of the single fence gate; you really need a double door system when dealing with chickens. And the fact that the area below the little house is accessible to the chickens, but not the player, can become annoying very quickly as well, I've found. All of that led me to revisit and completely rebuild the old version so that now, it fits neatly into my new Classic Farm Buildings Set.
