Note: There may be some problems with the redstone in the schematic

Designed by Atkins Middle East, the 66-story tower boasts a proposed amount of 4000 solar panels that will be integrated into the south facing facade, as well as three huge 225 kilowatt wind turbines. It is estimated that the tower design along with integrated technologies will knock off 65% of the overall energy needs. Developers in Dubai are touting this strucutre as just one of many planned “eco-scrapers” that will bring carbon emissions to new lows in terms of the building’s overall impact to the local environmental landscape.

My interpretation of the tower is much smaller, with only 35 floors. The geometric pattern on the facade is also slightly altered. I also wanted to use this tower as its name suggests: a lighthouse. I positioned it on an island just off the coast of the North District of the New Quarter. There is a bridge (span of 224 m) that connects it to the North District (let me know if you want me to post it). This is one of only three towers that has an architectural height at the ceiling of my world.

In an update for this project, i made the exterior lights turn off during the day, and on at night, and on the roof corners, the lights pulse constantly. This is my first redstone contraption, as previously i had only done simple doors and other small things as experiments with redstone.

Dimensions: 35 x 19 x 193

Using High Rossferry City Texture Pack

Update #2 : by jduartemiller 01/24/2014 10:00:59 amJanuary 24, 2014 @ 3:00 pm UTC

Compressed daylight switch and now works much better (turns on at around 13500, and turns off at around 23000 or so). This brought the height back down to 193, and now fits in my city. Also added pulsing lights on the corners of the building. these are a separate circuit to the daylight system. If these are not pulsing, just place a redstone torch near one of the redstone lines, and then immediately destroy it and they will start pulsing.

Thank you. I'm really proud of this one as it was my first attempt at using redstone in a building.

The schematic is down, but the world save (which i would suggest due to the redstone beng a little glitchy in schematics) is up and working. I will fix it in a little bit
